Condition appears to be not working due to disabled fields.

    Hello,

I'm trying to create numerous conditions off numerous fields in my test form.  In several cases (20 of them at the end of the form's conditions), an error appears on my condition saying:

Gray (Disabled) fields cannot be used as a condition trigger point.

Sample condition is shown below. Note gray circle to right of IF statement.

However, the panel fields are not disabled, nor are they gray in the drop down box.  As an experiment, I tried deleting the field Panel 1b, deleting the condition that shows FS_Spin_1b_red.png if Panel 1b's option chosen is red, creating a new Panel 1b field, and recreating the condition, but the problem persisted. (I undid that change because I have 10 conditions on the field and didn't want to redo them all if it wasn't going to work.)

SOmething else must be wrong. Can you help?

    Thanks!

PLEASE NOTE that this form is in the beginning stages of development.  None of the Panel conditions works just right at the moment.  I want to get Panel 1a and Panel 1b working properly and then do the same for all the other panels.

    The form is:

So if I understand you correctly you're trying to make conditions to show the appropriate colors starting with panels 1a and 1b but, it's not working and you are ending up with the mentioned error.

You have a ton of conditions already on top of missing fields and unfortunately that many conditions can often cause conflicts like this sometimes but, please allow us some time to investigate it so that we can try help correct this for you. We will update you again as soon possible.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your response.

Yes, I want to make conditions that will show the appropriate color images depending on the color selections in the panel dropdowns.  The conditions are saying the Panel fields are disabled, and so the "shows" are not functioning.

I have a ton of conditions because this form was cloned from another one of my forms that used them.  I'm dividing the images in half so I kept the conditions, but I must alter them to refer to the proper separated panels and images.  Keeping and changing them is easier than starting from scratch.  You should only see 10 conditions relating to panel 1a and 10 to panel 1b.

Note: The images are pngs that are all in the same absolute position and overlap each other.  The images are sourced with links to the files on my website host.  If you want to see how the form I started with works, check out this link:

    Thanks for your help.

I would like to apologize, however, please be reminded that the (Gray) warning message is for the fields that cannot be used with condition's "If" rules statement. A sample of this is headers.

If you check the form that is working properly on your website, http://www.madsails.com/Specify_FS_TR_spin.html, you will see that its condition also has that warning message.

The proper image not showing in the recent form you're working on even after the conditions are met might be caused by conflict as explained by my colleague, KadeJM. I will try to follow up with him to see if there are any updates on his investigations.

I have also created a clone version of your non-working form so I can further test/inspect it. I will update you here in this thread if I find anything.

    Thank you.

Thank you. Very helpful.  I did some additional testing and found that the conditions to show FS_Spin_1a_ and 1b images work after all.  The problem was that image fields FS_Spin_1 - 6 were showing all the time, obscuring any images FS_Spin_1a and 1b I shown conditionally.   ONce I  remove the old two sided image fields, the problem will go away.  Temporarily, I added a negative z-index to the old image fields' positions in CSS so I can see my new logic to show FS_Spin_1a and 1b image fields showing properly.

So, I'm all set.  Thank you for your assistance!

I guess this thread's title should be updated to say condition appears to be not working due to disabled field...
