Recieving multiple submissions from the same user

    Hello,

occasionally when a user submits the form by clicking the submit button only once we are getting 10 or so repeated submissions and the user is getting 10 repeated confirmation emails.  it is causing a lot of confusion for everyone.

I have checked the jotform forums and I have tried resetting our form cache but the issue persists. It's not on every submission, it happens only intermittently.

i have been going in and cleaning things up in our submissions, but i've left the last one there in case you need to take a look.

Generally, this issue happens when the Thank you page is refreshed or sometimes when the browser back button is pressed. I have checked the submissions of your JotForm and see that there are multiple submissions for the user 'Robert Baragar'. Since the submissions time stamp displays very close to each other or received multiple times in the same second, it looks like there is an issue with the browser at the user's end.

Is the form embedded on any your web pages or experienced the same issue with any other users? Please let us know so that we can further investigate the issue.

    Thank you!

    thank you for the response,

initially we had the form embedded in a page on our website
www.ltc.on.ca.  After the first day of launching the form the repeated
submissions issue occured about 5 times in 20 submissions.  that page
    has since been taken down.

i have been going in and cleaning up the submissions but i left the
last occurrence so you could see the problem.

the second day we have created a link directly to the form and i
expected the problem to go away, but it has not.

i have been using quite a few api hits troubleshooting the issue and
yesterday we ran out about 930pm.

    thanks for any advice

    since then we have

I have tried submitting your JotForm and I was unable to replicate the issue at my end. However, I see that it took a few seconds to redirect to the Thank you page due to the calculation to be done using the widgets.

Could you add the Get user Agent widget to your form so that we can get the browser and OS information that is being used? This would help us in further investigating the issue. Please do let us know if you experience the issue again.

    Thank you!

I am having this very same issue. However, the person submitting is also now getting multiple emails from Jotform. They are a prospective client and he's getting pissed at me!

Hi - we're still getting the same issue.  it seems like it might happen more often with firefox.  I can't really control what browser they are using, and I can't control how up to date their software is.  Hopefully we can find a solution otherwise we will need to move to a new form provider.

I understand that we cannot control the browser/OS being used by the user. However, the user agent widget collects this specific information that might help us in finding the root cause of the issue so that we can provide you with a solution.

Please try adding a captcha to your form so that each time the form is submitted it is necessary to fill the captcha. Please refer to the guide below to add a captcha field to your form.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/205-How-to-Add-a-CAPTCHA-field

Alternatively, you may set unique submissions on your form or set a limit on the form based on a unique question.

Please give it a try and let us know if the issue still persists. We will be happy to assist.

thanks.  yes we already have a captcha.

i've added the user agent widget and i'll enable the check cookies option for unique submissions.

Great! Please do let us know if you receive any duplicate submissions from the same user so that we can take a look and see what best we can do in this regard.

    Thank you!

hello again, we have a new issue - i'm not sure if it's related to the changes I made yesterday.

This morning a few of the widgets are not loading "we cannot complete your request" and the form cannot be submitted - the submit button sits on "please wait".

it's pretty early in the day so I doubt we have reached our API limit.

    please advise

    Jeff
