App/Widget that can copy fields and its conditions from one form to another

    Question off of this thread...

Say I have multiple forms that would use the same list of questions.  Anyway to copy and paste a group of questions between forms?

For example, I have a list of questions and conditions for 'employee 1'.  I would like a second employee in this form- I can do that.  But I would also like this exact 'employee 1' in a different form.  Is that possible?

    Thanks!

    Sara

Yes, you can use the field manager app: https://apps.jotform.com/app/field_manager

This is awesome!  Thank-you so much

However.... it doens't copy over the conditions that apply to those elements.

    Anyway to do that?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, this app only copies the fields, not the conditions.

Lets say you want to clone fields and conditions from FORM1 to FORM2, please try the following:

    1) Make a clone version of FORM1https://www.jotform.com/help/27-How-to-clone-an-existing-form-from-your-account

    2) Delete the unnecessary fields from CLONE OF FORM1, and just leave the group of conditioned fields you want to.

    3) Then transfer the fields from FORM 2 to CLONE OF FORM1.

Let us know if you need more help.

That could certainly work.  Only problem is- I want to add some more questions to an existing form.  (Those questions already exist on another form)  You see my dilemma

    Thanks anyway

You can clone fields from FORM1 to multiple forms, lets say clone X group of fields from FORM1 to FORM2, FORM3, FORM4, etc, with the same app: https://apps.jotform.com/app/field_manager

    Thank-you for your quick responses!

I don't think I was clear in my question at 12:48...

I can now clone questions- thanks!  I still can't, however, clone conditions.  Your solution to that was to simply close the whole form and amend from there.  However, I have 2 forms that are done- only I want a section from form one to now be on form two.  I got all the questions over using field manager, but now I am having to manually redo all of the conditions.

    boo

I actually looked around a bit this morning to see if any other online form builders will do this for me and it doesn't seem as if they will.  So at least you are on par with the competition.

    Thanks

so, I do actually have a solution for this...

create a widget that will allow you to put elements and conditions into folders.

For example- you can see that I create infographic Christmas cards.  I recently decided to allow people to put the map feature into a card that previously did not allow the map.  So- with this new imaginary widget, I could go to my first christmas card, group all the questions and conditions that pertain to the map and put them in a folder named 'map'.  I could then go to my second card form and place this folder into it.  And BAM- now clients have the map option in this second christmas card.  Now granted, everything in the folder would have to be there and be working, plus I would need some editing in the card.  But at least I wouldn't have to do ALL that work over again.

This could also be applied if I wanted people to have multiple maps in one card.  I could just place that folder in that form again.  and BAM- now I dont have to click 'duplicate' a million times and play around with the conditions!

Unfortunately, there is no option to copy conditions from one form to another. But I think your suggestion to have that is a good feature. Maybe incorporate that option to the Field Manager app. Let me forward this thread to our developers as a feature request. We can promise you a timeframe for this, but if there are updates, you should know it through this thread.

Before I spend a few hours working on these... is this something that might be done within a week or so?

I understand it might not be done at all- but maybe just give e an update once the developers vet it.

    Thank-you so much!!

Unfortunately, we cannot provide an ETA about when this might be available, this may take some time since we always receive requests of new features that some other users would like to get  implemented, but this is considered based also on the number of users requesting the same feature, for example, if there are a lot of users requesting a feature this may get some time to be available, but still if there are a lot of users an integration may take more than one week or months to be implemented.

However, we will make sure to let you know as soon as we know something regarding to this feature request.
