Filter dropdown options according to a previous response?

Hi, can I filter the options available in a dropdown according to a response to a previous field? For instance, users are asked to comment on conference papers they attended. Field 2 has a list of all the papers presented at the conference, including the speaker's name and paper title. In field 1, users choose the name of the speaker they want to provide feedback on. As a result, the options available to them in field 2 is narrowed down to just the papers presented by the speaker chosen in field 1; that is, all the papers that were not presented by the chosen speaker are hidden.

    Is that possible?

    thank you!

    tony

Hello Tony, sorry but there's no way to conditionally assign options to a Dropdown field based on a previous selection.

The closest alternative that you can try is to use a the Dynamic Dropdown Widget. Here's a quick demo form https://jotform.com/43514646570961 showing how it works.

Just keep in mind that you're limited to dropdown itself altogether. The programmed options within the dynamic dropdown widget will only work inside the widget itself. Think of it as nesting conditions for the dropdown options (e.g. IF A is selected, THEN show A1 and A2)
