Uploaded files with a number sign char # on the filename throw an Access Denied errorAsked by FIT_forms on November 07, 2016 at 11:47 AM
When a user has a pdf file with a "#" in the filename, it will fail after it gets uploaded.
Attempting to access the uploaded PDF afterwards fails with the following error:
My example was with the filename: "Knit Collection - Unit #3 Instructions.pdf"
To test, I renamed a good PDF file to this filename, uploaded it within the form, and it failed when attempting to review the pdf file.
When I removed the "#" character, I was able to upload and successfully review the pdf file.
Can you supply acceptable PDF filenames?
Are there any specific characters that are illegal?
Thank you for informing us about this. I managed to reproduce the error even on a simple form. It only happens if and only if the file being uploaded has a # in the filename.
Here's what I saw from my end:
The filename I used for that test upload was Test with #.pdf
I've escalated this to our Devs and although I won't be able to give you any timeframe, rest assured, we'll keep you apprised on this same thread if/when there's an update.
we have fixed the bug. Can you check, please?
Thanks for using JotForm.
