In the checkbox field, how can I make all the buttons match?

When I added an "other" fill in option to my checkbox field, the "other" option was formatted differently than the normal options. How can I fix this?

It seems there is an issue currently with styling the "other" option checkbox.  The following thread has a feature request to allow for the "other" option to show the same as the radio button in the associated field:

It also includes details on how to remove or apply CSS to the option, however, the CSS to customized it only work in certain browsers.
