How to set up a login w/username and password?

Can I request my clients to set up a user account and require them log in with their email address and password before they can enter? Some of my content has been "borrowed" by competitors and I'd like to lock them out.

This is not possible. Asking for login credentials goes against our terms of use: https://www.jotform.com/help/8-Terms-of-Use

"Phishing. You agree that Company may terminate your JotForm Service immediately if a form's purpose is found to be deceptively obtaining: sensitive credit card information, social security numbers, user login credentials, or other sensitive personal information. All these activities are considered as Phishing and any account along with the violating forms will be suspended immediately."

DON'T SUSPEND OR CANCEL MY ACCOUNT!!! YOUR REPLY SEEMS TO ME LIKE YOU'RE GONNA CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG. I WAS ONLY ASKING AN QUESTION.

BUT...when I have to log in with username and password here on jotform.com...is Jotform phishing?...Huuummmmm?

I was just hoping to accommodate my client's requests that wanted a log in like they do at Amazon where all their info is right there in front of them. They complain that they don't have a copy of the form anymore because they deleted the email that contained it. Thus they cannot figure out how to easily get back to that form to edit/update it/use it again and that frustrates people. Then they call me and ask me do it. One of the benefits of having an online form is to free up my time and make the client responsible for the content and any errors they may make. I don't want to frustrate my clients and I don't want to be frustrated either.

Again, I reiterate, don't shut me down.  I WAS ONLY ASKING AN QUESTION.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm sure my colleague did not meant it as a threat. But we do take phishing and other illegal activities that uses JotForm seriously.

Now with your question, this is what phishing means based from a quick search in the internet:

"Phishing is the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and sometimes, indirectly, money), often for malicious reasons, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

Take note of the word masquerading. If you are logging in to your JotForm account using this page https://www.jotform.com, then that does not mean we are phishing. The account, username and password were actually created in JotForm system. And JotForm is legit and real business. What phishing means is that a person or entity is trying to present itself legit even though they are not, just to steal information.

Now our forms are NOT built for log in systems. You cannot create a form that acts as a login page, because a login page needs to have a log in system, a database where passwords are encrypted, and other things. Our forms are also not built to ask for credit card or bank information using plain text box fields, this is because we do not allow credit card numbers and other sensitive information to be stored in our database. That is why if you want to ask payment from your users, it is a must to use our payment integrations. These integrations are connected to JotForm using API, the payment is directly processed and stored to the 3rd party payment services (Paypal, Authorize.net, Stripe, etc...). Those 3rd party services are accredited and are designed to handle payment details.

I strongly suggest reading our Terms page so that you may know what is allowed and not in JotForm. Your account will only be suspended if you are guilty of violating our terms, I would suggest that you update your form if there are any violations.

For the other concern that you have, I have opened a separate thread for it. Please refer to this link instead: https://www.jotform.com/answers/989030. I will address it shortly.

    Thank you.

Thank you, this was helpful  https://www.jotform.com/answers/989030 and the info that you don't offer log in pages was also very helpful and answered the question I asked in the first place.

Unlike the first answer insinuating that I am phishing. BOOO. I received the rest of the message(s) with hostility and insinuation that I am violating the terms. I SIMPLY ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT LOG IN AND IF YOU OFFERED A PRODUCT LIKE THAT.

Your sentence "I would suggest that you update your form if there are any violations." insinuates that I am a violator. My form does not ask for credit card info, social security info etc. Only names, addresses, phone numbers, the dates of service they are requesting etc. Info that I need to serve and contact them. I AM NOT PHISHING! Lastly, I do NOT have to use Jot payment integrations. It is NOT A MUST. And I would never accept payments through jotform, ever!!!!!! My clients complain about my form because they say it stalls and won't send. One client filled out all the info and it would not send! I had to fill it out for her. So much for simplification.

No need to respond. I just needed to vent.

I understand. Apologies if our replies might have offended or insinuated you, rest assure that we did not meant it that way.

If you needed any help again, feel free to open a new thread here in the forum.

    Again, our apologies.
