We used the paypal hookup last year to collect club fees from our players for rugby (we are a non-profit organization). It worked great for us. However, this year I set up subscription options on the paypal integration on my form, and when a user clicks "submit", they get an error that says "you must have a business or merchant account to accept payments". Is this new? I read some stuff on your forum and it says that should only be required with the PAYPAL PRO option, not with the regular paypal option. Please help.
PayPal states that Subscriptions and Recurring Payments feature is only available for Business or Premier accounts. This is not something that we add on our end.
The Personal PayPal account type is designed for users who shop online and receive personal payments. The Personal account type also does not accept credit or debit cards payments.
