After hitting the submit button on a JotForm a standard message appears. Is there a way to customize the submission note to the purchaser, the person submitting a response or request?

Yes you can customize the default thank you message to something else.
Just click on the canvas and start editing. See the video below for guide.
You can also create different TY message using condition rules.
