    1. do you provide portal for paying customers to update payment method or cancel service.

You can use your Billing page, but be mindful that you will be able to do that when you have an active subscription.

    2. in the case of recurring billing does your service automatically retries billing before canceling service.

Yes, and You will be informed about the failed charge. Then if the subscription is still failed you will be downgraded to free plan at the end of the subscription period.

3.is the ssl certificate visible at checkout point.

If you can clarify this question more please so we can give you the appropriate answer?

    4. on paid jotform service is the powered by jotform tag removed.

Yes, once you upgrade your account you will be able to uncheck it:

First thank you for your prompt response. Just want to clarify the ssl
certificate question. Will my clients be able to to see the ssl certificate
credentials at the time of checkout to have piece of mind with the
    transaction.
The question regarding the failed payments is actually for my clients not
me. Will they be able to go to their client portal and automatically update
their credit card info and email address if they need to. Also if a
client"s credit card fails how many times will the system retry before
    their account is cancelled..

The SSL certificate of any website (including us, Facebook, Twitter, or any website in particular that sits on https) is readily available from the browser. It's not something that you would normally see on the website itself.

JotForm doesn't process payments for your clients nor offer any sort of client-facing portal. We only provide you a means to build forms. ALL payments done on your form will be processed on one of our payment processors. I strongly urge you to read this article to help you decide Which-Payment-Processor-is-Right-for-Your-Business

Also if a client"s credit card fails how many times will the system retry before their account is cancelled..

I'm assuming this is just a follow to the previous question (which still points to your client's perspective). If so, then no, we don't inform them about anything regarding the payment. The only time they will be informed about anything Jotform-related is if and only if you have setup an Autoresponder (these will be sent to their email as a sort of confirmation that the form was submitted, regardless if there's a payment field in it or not).
