A Quick Note About Temporary Database Problems

March 01, 2011
Our database server started having problems today. So, we switched to the backup database server. Unfortunately, the backup server is few hours behind. So, you might miss some data in your account. This is a temporary problem. Unless something else goes wrong, all of the data on your account will be restored by tomorrow.

Thank you all for your patience.

UPDATE:  All missing data should be restored now.

We are still slower than usual since we have not completed the transition to the new database server. I'll post more updates when they are complete.

UPDATE 2: (3/4/2011) We need to disable the Submissions page and Reporting sometimes during the transition to the new server. If you see that message, check back on another time to access to your reports. Thanks for your patience.

UPDATE 3: (3/6/2011 6am) Switch to new main database server has been completed successfully. JotForm is now faster than ever since we took this opportunity beef up our database server memory and CPU power. Thanks all for your patience and support.

So does this mean the account I set-up and worked on for 4 hours yesterday about 16 hours ago is lost forever or can I expect my forms back by tomorrow? I need to know as I will need to start working on new forms today otherwise.

kzoo (March 01, 2011 at 07:20 PM)

I noticed that my forms were old. I ended up rebuilding them tonight. Will I have to rebuild them again when my account data is restored?

chrystal (March 01, 2011 at 08:47 PM)

Will changes I made during maintenance be voided then? I made changes as the forms were no longer sized correctly. Mid-changes I had to stop because your maintenence started and kept freezing my work. I would like my forms RESET to what they were ohh... 24 hours ago - before your maintenence, before my changes. Is that possible? And if not, will you please inform us of these types of maintenence issues in the future?

Most of mine have been re-loaded! Thanks to your team for quick communication about the issue when I emailed you. :)

I hope this is corrected by the morning. I was presenting this to our Executive team when the failures started. I've worked on correcting the last three hours before I read the blog. I hope this is temporary. I really like the potential

We can't see our form submissions. What's going on?

azymuthca (March 03, 2011 at 05:54 PM)

Thanks for keeping us updated. I have some critical data I'd like to access for tomorrow morning.

I waited for the scheduled downtime to expire, but I am still unable to view my submissions. Can you recommend any workaround, or possibly advise on when would be the latest they would be available?

andrewsalumni (March 04, 2011 at 07:58 AM)

Hello, when are we going to have access to reports and submissions??? this is critical for us

tmi (March 04, 2011 at 08:29 AM)

Helloo , We are also facing the same problem. When do we get access to reports. We are getting the gateway time out error.

coastdaleparks (March 04, 2011 at 09:41 AM)

hi just need some info on a possible time when I can get the form submissions information?

DHeald (March 04, 2011 at 10:02 AM)

Please inform us when we will be up and going. We have important information that needs to be accessed. Thanks.

jonathan11 (March 04, 2011 at 10:46 AM)

ETA on reports? They were back a for a while last night, and now, as you know, gone again. An update on what's going on and more importantly when the reports will be back reliably woud be nice. We have not been able to communicate with our clients from these form submissions all week. Quick update please?

myfoxwghp (March 04, 2011 at 11:28 AM)

This is killing us. We desperately need access to our databases.

DGH (March 04, 2011 at 01:21 PM)

Any update on when we will be able to access our submissions?? Even a broad time-line of your maintenance would be helpful so I can plan accordingly. Thanks!

kirkus (March 04, 2011 at 02:21 PM)

More consistent updates would really help. I keep checking in on my data, which I need now, and I have no idea when I can get it.,

Eagle Booster (March 04, 2011 at 08:38 PM)

Starting to consider other options. It's been 3 days. Get it going. This is ridiculous. thankfully I got a data update 2/28.

philackerman (March 04, 2011 at 10:09 PM)

I still don't have forms and this is a MAJOR part of my business operation. When will this be corrected?

aytekin (March 05, 2011 at 12:06 AM)

We need to disable the Submissions page and Reporting sometimes during the transition. If you see that message, check back on another time to access to your reports. Thanks for your patience.

primesunselect (March 05, 2011 at 07:42 AM)

I'm unable to see full source code for my forms and had no issue with this until March. Is this related to the database issues?

I'm trying to make changes on a form. I can edit but then can't save. Help please.

aytekin (March 11, 2011 at 04:43 AM)

andrucci: One of the versions we released on 3/9 had a caching bug. It was fixed the same day.
