ADOPTION FOR:*

Adoption contracts approved by Bully Up Rescue are subject to the following terms and conditions:

You agree to keep the companion as a domesticated house companion only. *

You agree to not leave the companion unattended outdoors for extended or inhumane periods of time. *

You will provide proper and timely veterinary care for your companion. *

You grant Bully Up Rescue the right to schedule periodic visits for the purpose of checking on the health and general welfare of the companion. *

All family members have agreed to the adoption of the companion and agree to abide by the terms of this agreement. *

You are 21 years of age or older. You have never been subject to legal action for cruelty or neglect of an animal. *

You have never owned an animal that has been confiscated by any animal control or had violations of state or local animal control regulations. *

You agree to NOT crop or dock the companion's ears or tails unless medically necessary. *

You agree to notify Bully Up Rescue immediately if you are unable to provide proper and adequate medical care for your companion.*

You agree to notify Bully Up Rescue immediately if there are behavioral issues that need to be assessed and/or addressed by a professional trainer/behavioralist.*

You shall not offer the companion for sale or give them to any third party without prior written consent from Bully Up Rescue. *

You shall not surrender the companion to an animal shelter, abandon or rehome the companion. You agree to contact Bully Up Rescue immediately if you are unable to keep the companion for any reason.*

You agree that prong, choke, and shock collars are to be used only during training; and only if you properly know how to use them. *

You agree to care for the companion in a humane manner and be a responsible companion guardian. This includes, but is not limited to supplying adequate food, water, shelter, attention, and medical care. *

You will comply with annual vet checks, maintain monthly heartworm prevention, maintain monthly flea and tick prevention, and all annual vaccinations. Not adhering to these terms will violate the contract immediately. *

You agree to remain in compliance with local animal control laws. *

You shall grant Bully Up Rescue the right of immediate possession of the companion if they are receiving inadequate care, are being improperly housed or handled. *

Adopting a Bully Up companion is a lifetime commitment. Please be aware: we are a foster-based organization, and in the event you need to surrender your companion back to Bully Up Rescue, you may be responsible for fostering the companion until a new suitable home is found. Any costs that may be incurred during that time will be at your expense. Companions are also required to be up-to-date with all vetting and current on preventatives. *

If for any reason you feel it is best to surrender your companion back to Bully Up Rescue after adoption has commenced, Bully Up Rescue has the right to assess you a surrender fee in the amount of $200. This fee is to offset any cost we may incur upon taking your companion back. We also require a 1) wire crate adequate for the companions size, 2) an unopened 30 lb. bag of dog food, 3) an unopened box/bag of treats, 4) and any other medications, and or preventatives you may have that are appropriate for the dog. *

The Adopter, hereby accepts possession of, title to (subject to the conditions of the adoption contract), and responsibility for the companion and agrees to release Bully Up Rescue of liability for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by the companion, and from any causes of action, claims, suits, or demands whatsoever that may arise as a result of such injury or damages. *
