  • 4.8 to 5.0

🧲 | Magnetic Culture: Ratings in this range indicate a magnetic and highly effective culture. Leadership is doing an excellent job of communicating purpose and values. A compelling vision for the company's overall culture is present. Leadership is intentional with reinforcing these through daily interactions and communications. There is a high level of alignment on the company’s vision and values, and they heavily impact organizational strategy and decision-making. Team meetings focus on the big picture as part of the regular agenda.

Next Steps: Continue these practices to sustain and further enhance your culture. Congrats, well done!

  • 4.5 to 4.79

🏆 | Great Culture: Ratings in this range suggest a strong culture where leadership effectively communicates vision, purpose, and values. Although this might not be at a magnetic level of motivation, team members understand the vision, purpose, and values. This rating indicates a high level of alignment across the company in terms of how employees perceive the vision and culture.

Next Steps: Stay the course and look for fun ways to reinforce the vision, such as team-building activities and recognition programs. Keep up the good work!

  • 4.0 to 4.49

👍 | Good Culture: Ratings in this range suggest a good culture where vision, purpose, and values are communicated on a regular basis, although there is obviously some room for more alignment and consistency.

Next Steps: To improve, consider placing a stronger emphasis on vision, purpose, and values in all team meetings and find ways to make these concepts more tangible. Reflect on how well a compelling vision for culture has been communicated. Do you have adequate physical illustrations for the vision, purpose, and values? What fun traditions can be used to reinforce these even more?

  • Below 4.0

⌛ | Stagnant Culture: Scores below 4 highlight a need for improvement in communicating vision, purpose, and values. For vision, purpose, and values, the bar for acceptable scores is significantly high because this rests on the shoulders of the C Suite. If the top executive leadership team is not communicating clarity around these three components of workplace culture, people will not have a uniform understanding of expectations or overall direction. Scores below 4 generally provide opportunities to revisit the overall vision for the culture.

Next Steps: Seek feedback on the largest gaps to understand vision, purpose, and values. Think creatively about how to illustrate these concepts in more vivid ways so that people can grasp them. Ensure top executives demonstrate passion and commitment to these principles through consistent and visible actions.
