Membership Vows

The following membership vows are taken from the Presbyterian Church in America’s BCO (Book of Church Order) in section 57-5:
1. Do you acknowledge yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope save in His sovereign mercy? 2. Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel? 3. Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ? 4. Do you promise to support the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability? 5. Do you submit yourself to the government and discipline* of the Church, and promise to study its purity and peace? *[For example, you may be suspended from the Lord's Supper or taken out of teaching positions/leadership as steps toward restoration (Galatians 6:1). The final step is excommunication (Matthew 18:17-18; 1 Corinthians 5:12-13).]
Privacy Policy
In order to protect your privacy, Hope Chapel will not collect your date of birth, home address and phone number on this form or other online platforms. When our pastor reaches out to you, he will try to email you first. If you've put your phone number on our newcomer information form (offline), he might text/call you to serve you better. For sensitive conversations, pastor will probably ask you to message/call him instead of exchanging emails/texts. You will be encouraged to install messaging apps like Signal. Your conversations will be encrypted. Still, you will be asked to meet with our pastor in person, since most secure conversation is in-person one. He will not share your story or prayer request with others unless you permit him to do so.
