Leave Policy for Permanent Employees
You are entitled to 4 weeks of paid annual leave (pro-rata for part-time employees) which may be taken in accordance with applicable legislation and OSA policy. All other terms and requirements regarding Annual Leave are outlined in OSA policy.
Personal/Carer’s Leave and Compassionate Leave
You are entitled to 10 days paid personal/carer’s leave each year (pro-rata for part-time employees) in accordance with applicable legislation and OSA policy.
Personal/Carer’s Leave is available to you in circumstances where you are unable to attend work because of your own illness or injury, or you need to provide care or support for a member of your immediate family or household in the event of an illness, injury or unexpected emergency affecting that person. Persons who are members of your immediate family are outlined in OSA policy.
Unless exceptional circumstances exist you must notify your Manager before the start of the first shift missed that you will be absent. A medical certificate or such other evidence for any personal/carer’s leave absences of more than two days might be requested by your manager in some circumstances. All other terms and requirements regarding personal/carer’s leave are outlined in OSA policy.
Compassionate, Parental and Other Leave
You are entitled to public holidays and long service leave in accordance with applicable legislation. You may be eligible for other leave (such as compassionate leave, parental leave, jury leave or community service leave) in accordance with OSA policy and applicable legislation in force from time to time.
