In-Between Executive Position
Thank you for applying to be part of the executive team of In-Between. I am so excited that you feel passionate about this, and motivated to make change and bring communities together. Keep in mind, we will be the founding board members which means exec job roles are not set in stone. We will work together to solidify who we are and where we want this club to go as well as the roles of each committee. Mission Statement:
“Our mission is to unite and support the Asian American community who feel they don’t strongly identify or align with either their Asian or American culture.”
Committee Statements of Purpose:
Social Committee— To foster a bond between committees and In-Between members and create an environment where members feel supported and safe to share their stories as well as meet people who have similar experiences.
Cultural Outreach Committee— To help In-Between members bridge the divide between their mixed cultures and identities by supporting the exploration and outreach of Asian American cultures.
Service Committee— To help “in-between '' communities outside of UC Berkeley by facilitating service events and fundraising with 3rd party Asain American adoption organizations.

Describe a time when you felt like you were in the "in-between" of society and didn't fit into either American culture or your Asian culture? How does this play into why you want to join the executive team?*

Please answer the following questions if you are applying for VP of Internal Affairs.
The VP of Internal Affairs will act as the co-leader of the Social committee and work alongside the VP of Design. Their responsibilities will include: (1) Planning internal social events for all club members such as fun mixers, karaoke, retreat if possible, events for members to open up tell their stories, deeper than karaoke lol (2) Organize a family like structure for all club members such as families or little and bigs (3) Organize and set up the slack account or all members
What is an idea for a fun social event you would want to host? How would it lead back to our mission statement? (Aim for 250 words).
Explain how you would facilitate a bond between committees and club members ? Little and Bigs? Families? Be as creative as you want! (Aim for 250 words).
Why do you want to be VP of Internal Affairs? What motivates you to apply for this position? (Aim for 250 Words)
Please answer the following questions if you are applying for VP of Design.
The VP of Design will co-lead the Social committee along with the VP of Internal Affairs. Their responsibilities will include: (1) Running all social media accounts (2) Designing apparel and other visual graphics (3) Planning recruitment events
Are you experienced with logo design, marketing, video making, and social media? If so, could you include a portfolio? (Aim for 150 words, really just looking for a yes or no!) *Experience is not required but would be a great bonus!
Describe 2 ways you would encourage people to learn more about our club and hopefully join! (Aim for 300 words)

Please answer the following questions if you are applying for VP of Cultural Outreach.
The VP of Cultural Outreach will act as the leader of the Cultural outreach committee. Their responsibilities will include: (1) Building relationships and communicating with other groups on campus such as AAA, TSA, CSA, etc. (2) Organizing events held with these other groups (3) Planning cultural activities
Do you have any connections with people in other cultural organizations on campus such as AAA, CSA, TSA? (Aim for 150 words, just looking for a yes or no answer and with what groups!)
Describe a fun cultural event you would wish to put on that balances American culture with Asian culture and aligns with our mission statement! (Aim for 300 words).
Why do you want to be VP of Cultural Outreach? What motivates you to apply for this position? (Aim for 300 Words).

The VP of Finance will act as the co-leader of the service committee along with the VP of Service. Their responsibilities will include: (1) Organizing money we raise from our fundraisers (2) Searching for scholarship opportunities for Adoptees
Do you have any background or experience with money management? Could you describe it? (Aim for 300 words).
Why do you want to be VP of Finance? What motivates you to apply for this position? (Aim for 300 Words).
Please answer the following questions if you are applying for VP of Service.
The VP of Service will act as the co-leader of the service committee along with the VP of finance. Their responsibilities will include: (1) 3rd party outreach for grassroots organizations dealing with international adoption in the Bay Area (2) Planning and finding service projects for members to participate in.
You will be directing service events with other 3rd party organizations that revolve around international Asian American adoption. How would you go about finding organizations for us to work? (Aim for 150 words).
Let say we find an organization asking for mask donations for Chinese orphans in WuHan. How do you go about helping them, integrating our club and the UC Berkeley community? (Aim for 300 Words).
