Thank you for taking the time to nominate an individual in your organization for this year’s Excellence in Charity Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals from a TCI-certified organization that embody the characteristics of charity that are both compassionate and empowering toward those in poverty.
Qualifications: The nominee must
- have served with a TCI-certified organization for one year or more and
- exhibit at least three of the six characteristics below
To complete the nomination, please complete a brief description for at least three of the following six characteristics that support how the individual has demonstrated that characteristic:

CHARACTERISTICS
COMPASSIONATE - is touched by the suffering of others and is moved to action consistent with the principles of true charity.
SACRIFICIAL - regularly demonstrates a heart that sacrifices time, resources, and comfort to support the needs of others.
EXPECTANT - expresses high expectations of the individuals he or she is serving and provides feedback to hold the them accountable for the vision and goals they have set.
HUMBLE - interacts with those he or she serves and other co-workers in your organization with an attitude of respect and serves the organization with a heart that does not expect recognition.
RELATIONAL - builds authentic relationships with individuals he or she is serving through transparency (willingness to share about himself or herself with appropriate boundaries), and a heart of equality (viewing the individual as an equal rather than a subordinate).
INVESTIGATIONAL - employing methods that look beyond the superficial to discover the underlying causes of an individual’s condition and cycle of poverty, as well as guiding the individual in the process of vision creation and goal setting.
