Applicants must apply and be officially admitted to UA Little Rock if not already a current UA Little Rock student. You are encouraged to begin this process as soon as possible. Go to http://ualr.edu/www/apply to submit your application. Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended. If you have an AA, AS, AAT, or Bachelor degree please make sure this is indicated on your transcript.
Upon the School of Social Work receiving your application, you will receive a URL to send to your references that will take them to an online form. You will be asked in this application whether you waive your right to see the completed reference.
By listing an individual as an emergency contact you agree to allow us to contact them if we cannot reach you after multiple attempts.
Please note that when you reach your senior year you will be placed in an agency for an internship. Internship hours are during weekdays; no evening or weekend hours are available. Please make arrangements before your senior year to complete your internship during regular weekday business hours. You will spend 16 hours per week in the field.
Information about felonies must be answered and will be used for planning the internship experience. Although a felony conviction does not preclude admission to the program, we cannot guarantee that the BSW Field Coordinator can place you in an internship if you have been convicted of a felony. Many internship agencies require a background check; therefore, you must answer this question truthfully. Failure to do so may result in your application being denied or expulsion from the program.
People convicted of certain felony convictions may not be eligible for licensure as a social worker in Arkansas. You must be licensed to practice social work in Arkansas. For more information about licensing regulations see http://www.state.ar.us/swlb
