  • Note: This lifebuoy must be in place when personnel transfer is being done and it must with a Self igniting light. Buoyant Line must not be connected to it, but a separate heaving line must be placed.

  • Note: Winch reels can have an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic operation. Mechanical Pilot hoists cannot be used.

  • Note: These include adequate illumination, wearing of proper PPE such as lifejackets and safety harness.

  • Note: If the freeboard is more than 9m, a Pilot ladder alone would not be sufficient. A combination ladder must be rigged in this case, combining an accommodation ladder and a Pilot ladder.
