Spay/Neuter Transport- Occurs every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 7:30am to 9:30am at our building in Lexington, NC, and the following Thursday from 10:30am to 12:00pm. This job requires lifting heavy dogs, handling fractious cats, and cleaning kennels.
Pet Food Pantry- Occurs every other month from 11am to 1pm at our building in Lexington, NC. Involves lifting heavy pet food bags and interacting with recipients.
Fundraisers-We have several fundraisers a year that we need help with. Help ranges from planning the event to helping set up and work the event.
Foster care-If you can foster or if you know someone that might be interested please let us know.
Adoption Fairs-Occurs at Petsmart in Lexington, NC the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am to 2:30pm. This job requires setting up/tearing down tables, handling adoptable pets, and speaking to potential adopters.
Thrifty Paws -Thrifty Paws is our thrift store located at our building in Lexington, NC and is open the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month from 2-5pm and the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month from 10am-2pm. This job requires distributing items,pricing merchandise, and helping customers with purchases.
Building and Yard Cleanup - Called for on an "as needed" basis. Requires heavy cleaning and yard work in various weather conditions.

Volunteer Agreement
As a volunteer, you represent HSDC to the public...therefore you agree to follow our polices as they are listed below.
Volunteers will strive to maintain an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, integrity, and courtesy. Always treat HSDC animals, volunteers and customers with respect. You agree to never hit or harm an animal or handle one in a rough, unkind manner. If you discontinue being a volunteer (by your own choice or upon request by HSDC) you will promptly return all HSDC supplies, equipment, records, animals, moneys, and other items in good, clean condition.
I, the Undersigned, assume the risk of being bitten, scratched, or injured in connection with my HSDC volunteer work. HSDC is not liable to me or my guardian for any injuries, damages, liabilities, losses, judgments, costs or expenses whatsoever, which I might suffer or sustain in connection with my HSDC volunteer activities.

I will indemnify, defend and hold the HSDC harmless from and against any claims, lawsuits, injuries, damages, losses, costs or expenses whatsoever, sustained by any animal or person in connection with my intentional misconduct or grossly negligent performance of my volunteer activities.

It is further agreed and understood that I shall maintain in full force and effect, a policy of insurance covering medical treatment and all related costs in the event of an injury to myself as a result of participation in any and all activities at the Humane Society of Davidson County as aforesaid.
