• Middle School Mathematics Important Information

    7th Grade PAP Pre-Algebra
  • Please see the criteria below for information regarding grade requirements for 7th PAP Pre-Algebra:

  • 1.  Student grades are available at all times on Skyward. If, at any two of the following dates: September 18, October 16, November 13, and December 11, a student has below an 80 percent average, the student will be moved to 7th Grade Math. Therefore, counselors will be prepared with new schedules for moving students to 7th Grade Math on the following three dates: October 22, November 16, and December 14.

    2.  Sequence of courses in grades 8-12 are as follows:

    8th - PAP Algebra I/Algebra I

    9th - PAP Geometry/Geometry

    10th - PAP Algebra II/Algebra II

    11th - PAP Pre-Calculus and/or AP Statistics

12th - AP Calculus (AB) and/or AP Statistics

    3.  Credit for high school level mathematics courses (Algebra I and/or Geometry) taken in middle school will be recorded on the student’s academic achievement record (AAR). Credit in these courses will not be used to calculate student’s high school grade point average (GPA).

Since PAP Algebra I, Algebra I, PAP Geometry are not calculated in the student’s high school GPA, these middle school courses are not weighted with additional points when determining middle school cumulative averages.

Due to the importance of acquiring a solid foundation in mathematics concepts prior to enrollment in high school, I understand that if my child cannot maintain an 80 for two of the four dates listed above (one probationary period is given), they will be placed into 7th Grade Math.
