  • iWelcome Team Training

    Saturday 5th September, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • Team training is an essential part of volunteering with iWelcome and in the ongoing minstry to international students. iVision, the annual Greater Belfast ISM kick-off event, serves as part of the team training. The event includes Biblical vision and teaching for ISM, a collective time of worship and prayer, and interactive seminar options: one appropriate for those newer to international student ministry, the second for those with more experience, and the third for people in church leadership.

    This year the event will be available online but there will also be an option to safely meet in person in ministry teams, where possible. Details for how this will work will be communicated the first week of September.

    We ask all volunteers to make every effort to attend!

    The vision and logistics of iWelcome, along with details about your role, will be sent out via email in a pre-recorded video. If you are part of the campus welcome team there will also be a face-to-face briefing on Monday 7 September at 11 am.

  • Prayer for iWelcome & beyond!
    Join us each morning online during 'Freshers Week', the 14th-18th September, for a time of fellowship, devotion and corporate prayer for iWelcome, international students and our ministries in the year ahead.  The exact time along with a Zoom Meeting ID will be sent to all volunteers closer to the time.

  • Statement of Faith

    We ask all volunteers to review and sign the Friends International / Christian Unions Ireland statement of faith.
  • We believe in:

    a)            the one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit;

    b)            the love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world;

    c)             the divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct;

    d)            the dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement;

    e)            the incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ – born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin;

    f)              the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God;

    g)            the bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world;

    h)            the justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ

    i)              The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.

    j)              The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers - given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

    k)             The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.

    i)               the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in all those thus regenerated, producing in them an increasing likeness to Christ in character and behaviour, and empowering them for their witness in the world;

    j)               the one holy universal Church, which is the Body of Christ, and to which all true believers belong;

    k)             the future personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge all people, executing God’s just condemnation on the impenitent and receiving the redeemed to eternal glory.
