1. Click HERE to download the appropriate letter of reference (LOR) template to use for each of your requested letter writers. If you are requesting a letter of reference for internship, use the "Standard Reference Form" (SRF) template for each of your letter writers.
2. Rename the file by putting your last name, then the current year (yyyy), then the faculty member's last name, and then the type of letter of reference (Prac LOR, SRF, Postdoc LOR). For example: Smith_2020_Canning Prac LOR, Rodriguez_2021_Liu SRF, or Johnson_2022_Yarhouse Postdoc LOR.
3. Click HERE to download the APA benchmarks to assist you in preparing relevant sentences for each of your requested letters of reference. If you are applying for a practicum or internship, use the middle sections ("Readiness for Internship"). If you are applying for a postdoc, use the right sections ("Readiness for Entry to Practice"). *Note: Please do not include clinically or professionally irrelevant information in your letter, because sites/programs only really care about your clinical competencies and experiences (i.e., APA benchmarks).
4. Complete the letter of reference template, being very careful to follow the instructions on each faculty member's letter template. Write all sentences/phrases in the third person, so the faculty member can modify them more quickly. Also, be sure to fill in all demographic information for yourself and your faculty letter writer.
5. Then upload all your letters in the next window. *Note: Each faculty member will spend time editing and personalizing your letter before submitting/sending it.
