Frisco High School ISM 1 Application

Students who wish to be considered for acceptance into the Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) Program at Frisco High School must complete this application in its entirety. Student Essay:

Before beginning the application, you will need to compose an essay that addresses each of the following questions/topics. Use proper organization and conventions and answer ALL components.

DO NOT simply type answers to the below questions in the order that they are asked. Demonstrate the ability to craft a thoughtful, well-organized, and coherent essay that meets all requirements.

Explain why you would like to be part of the ISM program in Frisco ISD.

What are you hoping to learn about your topic while in ISM? (Be specific.)
What specific experiences and opportunities do you desire to have in ISM?
Provide an example of how you have faced adversity and how you handled the situation.

Transportation

Transportation is required for participation in the Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) Program. Students will need to drive themselves to ISM interviews and mentor visits on a consistent, regular basis (approximately one time per week), or the student will need to have a parent available for this regular, consistent transportation. No exceptions can be made because students will not be able to complete assignments, thereby earning course credit, without transportation. Students who cannot meet the transportation requirement will not be accepted into the program.
