The rise of COVID-19 has compelled institutions and organizations in prohibiting the physical attendance of individuals when attending schools. But we believe in the importance of education in our society and thus we are instituting the use of technology during these times of prohibition from physical participation through the use of live video-conferencing platforms. This consent form serves as a guideline for parents and students to engage in video-conferencing for the continuity of classes and furtherance of educational progress. We likewise understand the need for a safe and secure audio and virtual-meeting solution to protect our community from the risks and dangers of using such technology. Â
We have ensured that the needs for video-conferencing that shall be used are compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
The following are the rules and guidelines during the conduct and/or effectivity of the virtual conference implementation of the school:
- Web cameras must be open at all times during video conferencing. The teacher must at all times, during the meeting see the student.
- Recording of the video conference shall be prohibited. This is for the best interest and privacy of every student in the class.
- In order to maintain a conducive environment for the learning of students during class, parents are not allowed to intervene during the class of the student. Parents may not interrupt the student or the class during the session.
- Students are expected to conduct themselves with proper decorum. Any inappropriate behavior that is not in line with the school's policies shall be met with disciplinary action.
- If parents have concerns or questions, parents may send their messages via email.
- Students are encouraged to help one another.
- It shall not be permitted to share the link for video conference invites to others who are not part of the class.
