Abbreviated Conduct Rules for Sovereign Sands

Sovereign Sands is a low impact, exclusive eco-friendly estate with emphasis on the environment. This estate has strict rules in place controlling noise and any other disturbance,

carrying penalties when not observed. This is not the place for a noisy party or a rowdy

group of people or loud music. However, if you want to get in tune with nature, discover the

best of sea, sand and forest that the North Coast has to offer this is the place for you.

With SS being such a dense complex with units adjoining and close together, rowdy and loud behaviour, including the use of any kind of sound system on decks, will not be allowed at any time. Noise carries. Tenants occupying units with adjoining decks are particularly reminded of this. Tenants naturally gravitate to the patios and decks and very soon the decibel level of "talking" goes up. Again, rowdy behaviour, shrieking and shouting are not allowed, and fines

Please also note that no functions/promotional events of any kind are allowed in the units, e.g. conferences, weddings, film or photo shoots.

ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES WILL BE PERMITTED.

Please don't feed them, and remember to close your kitchen windows and the sliding doors when you go out or to the beach. They have become very wily about getting into units!

Each unit has its own discs for beach access. They access both turnstiles - one between units 27 and 28 and one on the southern side of the swimming pool. Please look after these discs; they are important security items, giving access to the complex, and there will be a charge of R500 to replace. NB Not to be taken into the water!

The turnstiles are locked at 20h00 until 06h00. However, if you wish to go to the beach, please liaise with Security at the Guardhouse and they will open the turnstile gate/s for you.

Pets are allowed on the estate. However, kindly observe the rules of (a) keeping dogs on a leash when outside and (b) picking up dog faeces, putting it in plastic bags, and disposing of it with the refuse not in the toilets, and (c) not allowing them to bark unduly (dogs new to the estate and that are here for a short period tend to react to the monkeys and to people walking past, including the security guards who patrol 24/7 - please try to prevent this Also, we have had several cases of dogs being left unattended, with the resultant constant barking causing a problem. Please do not leave dogs unattended. Also, dog droppings are not being scooped up by dog owners resulting in messy lawns where children play and people walk.

Due to the rabies problem in KZN all pets including cats are required to be inoculated. In the case of tenants or guests bringing pets to Sovereign Sands proof of such inoculations have to be provided BEFORE they arrive at Sovereign Sands. If this information is not provided, tenants/guests will not be permitted entry.

No laundry of any kind is permitted to be hung on balustrades or railings or to be visible to other owners. Beach towels must not be hung over railings but may be placed on chairs on patios where they are not visible to others.

Please do not throw braai ash on the gardens, grass or into storm water drains. Cold ash should be placed in black refuse bags with household litter and taken to the bins in

Please note that should anything except toilet paper be thrown into the toilets, blockages of the system may result. It is amazing what our Estate Manager has had to remove from our blocked sewerage system in the past!
