BULLYING, On Site Bristol operates zero tolerance of any forms of bullying or harassment at work or college. What examples of bullying can you describe? Possible answers: Name calling, spreading gossip, making fun, hitting. Has anything like this every happened to you at school, work, or college? What do you think you can do in these sorts of situations? Possible answers: Contact OSB, Training Officer, speak to employer, speak to parents, useful organisations. GRIEVANCES AND COMPLAINTS - If you felt you being treated unfairly, for example, at work whom would you speak to? Possible answers: Line Manager, OSB Training Officer, and Personnel.What would you expect from them? Possible Answers: That they would take your complaint seriously and help sort it out by following the appropriate complaint procedure or, informally, by supporting you to sort the problem out. Has anything happened to you in relation to this in the past and how did you deal with it?
HARRASSMENT - Harassment means doing something another person doesn’t want, that makes them feel upset, offended or embarrassed. Can you give us some examples of harassment? Possible answer: someone continually annoying or bothering you constantly. This sort of behaviour wouldn’t be tolerated and a complaint could be made against the person involved.
VICTIMISATION - means treating someone unfairly because they have made a complaint. Have you experienced anything at school, work, or college where you have needed to make a complaint? What happened, how did you deal with this? Inform learner that OSB have a complaints procedure, tell them to get in touch with us should any problems in this respect occur.
DIVERSITY (WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT) - Inform learner that OSB works to promote diversity within the construction industry in Bristol. For example, the majority of people who work in the construction industry are male.Can you give us some other examples of how people, at work, can be different? Possible answers: male, female, black, white, able bodied, disabled all have a right to be treated fairly and with respect.
PREJUDICE - 'Prejudice means making ajudgement about people without knowing them. For example assuming that all bricklayers are men.’ Can you think of any other example of how you or others might be prejudiced? Possible answers: those with tattoos and piercing are unreliable.Have you experienced any issues relating to prejudice at work or college?

For example because they are male or female, because of their skin colour, ethnic origin, disability, age, sexuality or religion.’. Have conversation around unemployment and people not having as much money to spend on homes, slow down in economy, not as much investment so not as much work around, more competition, less profit. Banks not lending to small/medium size businesses.
When you start work you have a ‘contract’ with your employer, even if you don’t have it in writing straightaway. What information would you expect to find in a written contract – give three?
