Sweet & Able Mentorship Program

Sweet & Able is a mentoring initiative for young women ages 12-21 who are going through the challenges of adolescence and early adulthood while building their confidence through mentorship and dance. Through oral history, training, activities, performance opportunities, and mentorship, these young women will gain a sense of sisterhood, leadership skills, and become change agents. This program is designed to preserve the legacy of Mable Lee Dancing Ladies while nurturing the next generation of young women who are interested in pursuing a career or staying connected to the arts.

Welcome to the Sweet & Able - Mentoring Initiative 2021 Application! We are very glad to know you are interested in participating in the legacy that is Ms. Mable Lee, and achieving all of your dreams. Please carefully read this application. Make sure the information you provide is complete and accurate. Also, please do not leave any blank space. You will need to submit this form completely by March 26th, 2021 by 11:59pm. If you do not fill out this form, this means you are not requesting any scholarship for the Initiative, (tap shoes, tap heels, etc), but you will still be considered for the program.

Mable Lee’s Bugle Call:

This 32 bar phrase of choreography is a signature sequence of lindy and swing jazz steps that Mable Lee’s Dancing Ladies would use to exit the stage and close out her shows.
