  • Facility Interior

  • Entrance/exit doors open, close, and lock(where applicable) without issues?
  • Automatic-assist doors are tested and working properly?
  • Entrance rugs are present, lie flat, and are pushed up against threshold (not a trip hazard)?
  • Is there any significant damage to any walls, flooring, ceiling tiles, or any other interior structure such as support beams, etc.? If yes please explain in "Additional comments".
  • Extension cords are in good physical condition(no cuts, crushed areas, frays, slices, and all prongs are present)?
  • Power outlets are only plugged into a wall outlet(no 'daisy-chains' of power strips)?
  • Restrooms are easily accessible, clean, and free of merchandise?
  • Is there a First Aid Kit(s) that are fully stocked and accessible to all associates?
  • All walkways have ATLEAST 40 inches of clearance?
  • Facility Exterior

  • Is the parking lot, donation area(where applicable), and sidewalks in good condition(no potholes, cracks, uneven surfaces, or obstacles)?
  • Exterior lights of the facility(including the parking lot lights) are working properly?
  • Donation area is safe and free of hazards such as broken glass, nails, debris, etc.?
  • Trash dumpster area is free of overflowing trash and sellable merchandise?
  • Trash dumpster has a lock and key that works properly?
  • Processing Area

  • Gaylords and containers are stacked so that they are stable and not leaning excessively
  • Donations are stacked in a stable manner and not overflowing into aisle ways?
  • Pallets are stacked neatly(no more than 15 high) and all are flat on the ground?
  • Sales Floor

  • Child seat belts are on the carts and carts have child safety warnings?
  • Sales floor lights are working, with no more than 3 lights units not lit or flickering?
  • A clearance of 36 inches exist between all racks and walkways?
  • Large, heavy, and bulky items are stored on lower shelves?
  • Toys and children's items are displayed safely?
  • Dressing room walls, doors, mirrors, and seating are in safe condition?
  • Dressing rooms are clean, free of merchandise, and easily accessible?
  • Picture frames are stores in bins or in such a way to avoid glass breakage?
  • Long garments such as dresses are hung so that excessive material does not create a trip hazard?
  • Clothing is displayed safely(no hangers or clothing on the floor, racks extending into the pathways)
  • Back of House

  • Garment barbing guns have needles capped when not being used, are not shared between workers, and are labeled with the owner's name?
  • Safety gloves and safety glasses are available and used for the compactor and baler?
  • Donated hazardous items are separated and stored in a designated area(paints, tires, chemicals, compressed gasses, etc.)?
  • Exits, sprinkler heads, systems, fire extinguishers, emergency exit signs, and fire alarm pull boxes are free of obstruction?
  • Walkways are clearly defined and free of obstacles?
  • Biohazard kit is present and fully stocked?
  • Baler has lock-out-tag-out procedure posted?
  • Compactor has lock-out-tag-out procedure posted?
  • Emergency eyewash station is tested monthly?
  • Associates are observed lifting heavy objects correctly and safely?
  • Pallet jacks are pushed under a pallet or gaylord when not in use?
  • Electrical

  • Breaker boxes are kept shut?
  • Access to electrical panels is clear, with nothing stores below or near them?
  • Chemicals

  • Chemical containers are stored in one location, with exception of spray bottles, and lids are tight with no leaks?
  • Safety Data Sheet(SDS) has all SDS sheets for chemicals used onsite, a list of chemicals is in front of SDS binder, and the binder is easily accessible?
  • All chemical containers are labeled by name and any other identifying information?
  • Chemicals are stored in closed containers that are not leaking?
  • Fire Prevention

  • The store has an adequate amount of fire extinguishers which are fully charged and initialed monthly by management?
  • Fire extinguishers are wall mounted and visible from several feet away?
  • Emergency lights are working and tested by staff every month?
  • Sprinkler System

  • Access to the sprinkler main and alarm panel is clear with no blockages?
  • Sprinkler system main shut-off valve is identified with a sign or label?
  • Covid-19 Awareness/Preparedness

  • Are all associates doing their best to maintain social distancing guidelines of being at least six feet apart?
  • Are all associates wearing proper face coverings according to Goodwill's mask mandate?
  • Are proper sanitization supplies accessible to employee's for use(Hand sanitizer, etc.)?
  • In areas where mask mandates are still in effect, is there proper and visible signage at the entrance informing customers?
  • Employee Awareness

  • Ask an employee where they would go during a tornado, fire, hurricane, etc. Do they know?
  • Ask an employee where to locate information on chemicals. Do they know?
  • Ask an employee to demonstrate proper heavy lifting procedure with items such as furniture. Can they do it?
