  • 1. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
  • 2. Each team is responsible for making sure all equipment is clean and properly stored.
  • 3. The least maneuverable craft has the right of way.
  • 4. Teams may race in front of Mother's Beach or other high volume traffic areas as long as there is open space.
  • 5. Dragon boats may use private docks as needed to switch paddlers or steerspersons.
  • 6. Dragon boats may enter Marine Stadium to practice races.
  • 7. You are responsible for obeying boating laws you don't know.
  • 8. Adult supervision, at least one adult, is required on the boat for High School, Junior High, and youth teams.
  • 9. A red triangle flag displayed on the flag pole above the gas dock means no smoking.
  • 10. Correct position paddling for the commands "draw" (left or right) requires that paddlers pull water towards themselves, under the boat.
  • 11. Lights are not required to be used at night, for proper identification and general safety.
  • 12. ICEA will cover the cost of damages to boats as a result of negligence and accidents.
  • 13. Although life jackets come in different styles, there is no difference in their capacity to save a life.
  • 14. If the boat capsizes, paddlers should swim to shore.
  • 15. Quiet zones around Naples island are between 8 am and 12 noon.
