Library Orientation Tour - Class comes in for walking tour of the facilities and the library services are discussed. Approximately 30 minutes.
Library Services Overview - Library services and procedures are discussed as part of a classroom visit. Approximately 15-20 minutes.
Online card catalog training/activity (Computer lab) - Searching the card catalog for physical materials in the library. Includes time for students to practice on individual computers using a worksheet. Approximately 40 minutes.
Database training/activity (Computer lab) - How to effectively search the databases. Includes time for students to practice on individual computers with guided activity. Please specify preferred databases. Approximately 40 minutes.
Advanced database training/activity(Computer lab) - Further explores Boolean operators, limiters, and other database search techniques. Includes time for students to practice on individual computers. Approximately 40 minutes.
Internet Searching/Activity (Computer lab) - How to effectively search the Internet using search engines and evaluate online resources. Includes time for students to practice on individual computers. Approximately 40 minutes.
Instruction for a research assignment/Other learning session (Computer lab) - Specific library resources are explored in relation to the assignment given. Please send a copy of this assignment to Heidi Blackburn at hblackbu@k-state.edu. Approximately 40 minutes.
