Founded in 2003, the Ivy & Roses Community Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports education, the arts and other community building activities in metropolitan Atlanta. Our mission is to provide resources for charitable, civic and direct service programs. These include scholarships, educational assistance and partnerships with other agencies to magnify community impact.
Purpose: To identify high school seniors and continuing college students who possess a strong desire for community and volunteer service and plan on attending an HBCU in the Fall 2016 semester as a full-time student.
Reward: Seven (7) individuals selected from the pool of qualified applicants will each be awarded book scholarships for the 2016 Fall semester in the amount of $500.00.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- Graduating high school senior or currently enrolled college student (undergraduate or graduate) attending college in Fall 2016 with a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale;
- Have applied and been admitted to Historically Black College or University (HBCU);
- Have served the local Atlanta community via community service and/or volunteer hours for a community service organization serving the Atlanta metro area;
- Complete a narrative of no more than 250 words, discussing the following:
