  • Social Covenant

    • In unity, we agree to empower one another with the ability to listen to each other, share our wisdom, allow for creativity, be free and open to express our opinions, be cooperative and have a sense of responsibility and accountability.

In our attitudes, we will honor and respect one another, be patient and kind, provide way to be inclusive not exclusive, build and encourage each other to provide an environment where transparency humor, gentleness, trust and servant heartedness thrive.

In our relationships, we show appreciation and affirm one another with sincere appreciation and not flattery.  Plus we will never, ever gossip.

With relationships as our solid foundation, we will move appropriately along the relational/transactional continuum, relating to one another in ways that allow us to develop a solid and sure “relactional” foundation on which to build all transactions.  We understand the importance relationship AND that we must get the job done.  We will build so deep in our relationships that we cannot be separated by any transaction.  We instill value in our work by exhibiting self-control and placing intentional focus on the agenda or business at hand.

When we must approach someone about an issue or problem we see; we promise to go to that person:

      • In LOVE
      • In HUMILITY (I might be wrong.)
      • With 100% of the TRUTH
      • With PRE-FORGIVENESS

IF WE SEE A PERSON IN VIOLATION OF THIS COVENANT, WE AGREE TO:

      1. Go to that person 1 on 1
      2. Go with another person (who both people respect)
      3. Go to the group with that person
      4. That person will agree to leave the group

IF I AM AT FAULT, I WILL USE THE SIX STEP APOLOGY MODEL:

      1. I will acknowledge that “I did it.” – state the offense
      2. I will express that “I was wrong.”
      3. I will truthfully say, “I am sorry.”
      4. I will ask the person “Will you (or when you can) forgive me?”
      5. I will give the person permission to “hold me accountable.”
      6. Finally, I will ask them:  “Is there anything else?” I agree not to interrupt and to listen.  I will not defend my stance on anything they include in their answer to this additional question if and until another conversation is arranged.
