Founded in 2003, the Ivy & Roses Community Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports education, the arts and other community building activities in metropolitan Atlanta. Our mission is to provide resources for charitable, civic and direct service programs. These include scholarships, educational assistance and partnerships with other agencies to magnify community impact.
Purpose: To identify high school seniors and continuing college students who possess a strong desire for academic excellence, leadership positions in student organizations, and plan on attending an HBCU in Atlanta, Georgia in the Fall 2017 semester as a full-time student.
Reward: Two students selected from the ASCEND students who apply will each be awarded a $2,000 scholarship for financial assistance for college.
Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- A graduating senior who has matriculated through all 4 cylces (Cycle 1 - Cycle 4) of the ASCEND program coached by members and friends of the Pi Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.;
- Complete a narrative of no more than 250 words, discussing one of the following:
What tools and/or knowledge have you gained from the
Alpha Kappa Alpha ASCEND program that will help you succeed in college?
*Application must be submitted by March 18, 2018 at 11:59pm.
*GPA, extracurricular activities, career statement, and financial need statement are not required but may assist in the selection process.
