• A bit of info before we get started...

The most important thing we want to emphasise to you is quality over quantity. We have a ton of opportunity, don't feel like you have to do everything. This year we have more events, but we also have a lot more artists so keep in mind this form is a request not a guarantee. We will do our best to accommodate as many artists as possible. These are the events we will have in the community for Summer 2018! The purpose of our events is to immerse you in an opportunity to sell your work and showcase what you do best. For all events, its your responsibility to promote the sale of your artwork because its actually illegal for us to do so (IRS stuff).

For those of you that haven't been to our events, we have four types of events we do.

Arts & Drafts and Art in the Yard is when we pop up at a local brewery, restaurant, event, or business and mix in beer, food, music, DIY projects, and of course you! We supply a table, lighting, tents, etc and you bring your own set up. If you're new to this, no worries we want will help you figure things out. We have small vendor fees just to cover our costs and the best part is, we have lots of fun ways for you to waive those.

The other type of event we do is what we can Tier 1 events. They are Milkshake Mania, Taco Mania, Dewey Arts Fest, Arts & Drafts Fest, and Dewey Sip and Shop. All of them are huge fundraisers for us, and some are about community involvement like Milkshake Mania and Taco Mania, while the others are large scale opportunites for you to showcase your artwork.

Art Reach is our art therapy and community work from anything to murals, after school programs, community partnerships, and more! All of these things count for volunteer hours that you can use to waive vendor fees, get your work photographed or prints, studio space use, and so much more!

If you have questions or need help, shoot us an email at artistmanagement@deweyarts.org.

  • Milkshake Mania, Monday June 18th

For those that joined us at Taco Mania, we have a new fundraiser that is going to be more family fun than a drinking and eating event. We are partnering with Mug and Spoon who hosts the Delaware Milkshake Competition. We essentially partner with local restaurants who showcase their best Wild Milkshake and the community comes in to try samples of it. This will be held at the Rehoboth Band Stand.

For this event we need Volunteers to help man this event, it will run from 9am until 3pm for set up and breakdown. Since we are in a public space we will need all hands on deck.

Last year for Taco Mania we had our artists make a ceramic sugar skull for silent auction this year, we are doing ceramic cows. If you are down to paint a cow it is worth 25 hours.

  • Arts & Drafts Crooked Hammock Thursday, June 21st

This event was such a hit last year, we had a huge crowd. This year we will be set up in the lawn instead of on the deck area since it will be much busier. There will be live music and beer flowing! We love the Hammock. We will have lights strung with tents up, we plan to turn the Hammock yard into an arts oasis.

Crooked Hammock is releasing a new beer that day and we are going to have a compeition between our artists to have your artwork on the branding and the can release. If you're interested in this we will send information when we get closer.

  • What's happening now.

Now that we have the events you are interested in, we want to see how you want to get involved right now.
  • The plan for Summer 2018 for the DAC

Below is some more info on what we have going on behind the scenes, and we welcome you to get as involved as you want. We want you to gain volunteer hours so you don't have to pay a vendor fee at any of your events plus have some left for some killer perks.

The Warehouse: This is coming along slowly but surely! We plan to offer 10-12 studio spaces for rent monthly! Pricate access to the Warehouse, communal space, workshop space you can offer to the community, storage, and more. The spaces ARE NOT climate controlled. If you're interested in this, please indicate below. Potentially will be ready Mid-July

Art Reach: We have mural projects, gardening at our Co-Op Garden, community clean up, help at the Warehouse, and so much more. If you want to gain some volunteer hours, we need you!

  • Other Opportunites..

We realize that the events aren't for everyone. We are currently parterning with local businesses like restaurants, hotels, shops, etc in our area and want to get your artwork on the walls, we call this our Rotating Gallery. We also over time will partner with galleries and other spaces to have your artwork on display. If you are just interested in "being in the loop".. that means we will reach out to you when businesses are looking for artwork to hang and we will help with the arrangements.
