Champion of Champions: $65 (All 8 classes in the intermediate or senior)

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1 Payment Options: All fees must accompany entry forms. Our preferred option for your entry fee payments is to use
a) Online banking; Bank Account: 03- 0903- 0384121- 01: Please use your child’s name as a reference. Please note fees must be deposited by closing date.
b) Cheques: please make payable to Dunedin Tap Dancing Society Inc.
c) Please do not post cash.
Entries received after closing date will be deemed as late entries. Late entries maybe accepted with a late fee of $20.00 only until the program is set (3 days after closing date). Entry fees will not be refunded.
2 Professionals are not eligible to compete. A professional is one who derives his or her income solely from dancing.
3 Age to be determined as at commencement date of competitions.
4 Protests must be in writing together with the sum of $5.00 to be received by the Competition Secretary within 15 minutes of the results being announced.
5 No competitor, parent or interested parties, other than a committee member or committee nominated person, is to have contact with the adjudicators.
6 All trophies remain the property of the Society. Trophies must be returned in a clean and undamaged condition on or before closing date of entries to the Cup Secretary. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IF TROPHIES ARE NOT RETURNED BY CLOSING DATE.
7 Competitors compete at their own risk and only under these conditions will entries be accepted.
8 All items - TIME LIMIT - MAXIMUM - 4 MINUTES, Except Song and Dance - 5 minutes. If your item exceeds this time please stipulate on your entry form for programming purposes.
9 Tap Duos, Trios and Teams may not compete in more than one age group. Please enter duos and trios on only one entry form and remember to include all names.
10 Tap Duo and Trio competitors may enter Duos and Trios with separate partners BUT MAY NOT DANCE MORE THAN TWICE over their classes. If either competitor has ever won a Duo Class they are not eligible to compete in Novice Duo classes.
11 The committee has the right to amalgamate or divide any age group where the number of entries warrants it.
12 Any competitor who has received tuition from the Adjudicator within the past two years is not eligible to compete in this competition.
13 Prompting of Restricted or Open Class competitors will not be permitted, except under 6 years olds.
14 If a competitor leaves the stage during their item, he or she may dance again at the end of the section but will not receive any marks or placing for that section.
15 Marshalling instructions will be advised in the program according to the venue.
16 Competitors are to leave the side of the stage promptly after performing.
17 No liquids, creams, naked flames or like to be used on stage. "Live props cannot be human.”
18 TAP COVERS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. COMMITTEE MEMBERS WILL ENFORCE THIS RULING AND FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF COMPETITORS NEXT DANCE.
19 If an Entertainment Section is provided for, this will be run as follows: at the commencement of the Saturday evening session 30 minutes will be allocated for the Entertainment Class to run. Please note: This section will only be offered if time permits
i. Entry is FREE and Entry is OPEN to items which have not been performed at any other time during this competition.
ii. Entries will be accepted up until the end of the Saturday lunch break unless the time allocation has been filled.
iii. Entries must be lodged with the Entry Secretary, up until the commencement of the competitions, then with the Competition Secretary up until the end of the Saturday lunch break.
iv. The entries will close off for this section when:
1. The 30 minute allocation time has been filled OR
2. At the conclusion of the Saturday lunch break.
The confirmed entries and the Saturday evening start time will be advised at the beginning of the Saturday afternoon session. It is the Dancers responsibility to manage the other committed classes should a clash occur.
20 Novice Classes are open to competitors who have never won a first prize for that class. Novice competitors are not permitted to enter Restricted, Achievers or Open classes (except for under 6 years olds) when a Novice Class is available.
21 Restricted Competitors are those who have only ever won the Novice dance in this class. Restricted competitors are not permitted to enter Achievers or Open classes when there is a Restricted class available.
22 Achievers Competitors are those who have won the Novice and Restricted class but never an Open dance in this class. A competitor may enter and win an achievers class until they win an open class in this dance.
23 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be available in all classes with up to 10 entries with the discretion of the adjudicator to allow additional placings when entries exceed 10. VHC, HC & C ribbons to be awarded at the adjudicator’s discretion in all sections.
24 For Novice and Restricted classes 1st place will be awarded only at the adjudicator’s discretion.
25 Videoing is not permitted during these competitions if a videographer is available. We encourage you to use the official videographer during these competitions of one is available otherwise please seek permission from the secretaries table to video your own child.
26 Restricted Championships are open to competitors who have won a Novice Solo but never a Restricted, Achievers or Open Championship.
27 Achievers Championships are open to competitors who have won a Restricted Championship but never an Open Championship.
28 Championship class competitors the Juvenile, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Championships are open to all competitors who have won an Open Solo or a Restricted/Achievers Championship.
29 OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES:
Under 10 Year Old Dancers:
Will dance a 2 speed championship dance comprising a minimum of 1 minute 45 seconds slow tempo and some speed in an item not exceeding 4 minutes total.
10 & 11 Year Old Dancers:
Have the choice of dancing either a 2 speed or a 3 speed championship dance. The 2 speed option will comprise of minimum of 1 minute 45 seconds slow tempo and some speed in an item not exceeding 4 minutes in total. The 3 speed option will comprise of a minimum of 1 minute 45 seconds of slow tempo, some rhythm, and some speed in an item not exceeding 4 minutes in total.
12 year Old & Over aged Dancers
Must dance a 3 speed championship dance comprising a minimum of, 1 minute 45 seconds slow tempo, some rhythm and some speed in an item not exceeding 4 minutes in total.
SENIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS (15 yrs & over)
Winner will receive a Sash, Challenge Trophy & $300.00
Runner-up – Sash, Challenge Trophy, $150.00
INTERMEDIATE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS (12,13 & 14 years)
Winner will receive a Sash, Challenge Trophy & $200.00
Runner-up - Sash, Challenge Trophy, $100.00
