  • MSM Student Leader Application

Thank you for your interest in East Swamp Student Leadership team! We ask that you complete the following form thoroughly and honestly, then hit the submit button below. The application is the first step to getting plugged in to our team.(Your application is confidential and is viewed by the East Swamp Student Ministry leadership team only.)
  • We are so excited that you are interested in joining Student Leadership at MSM!

You may have heard people call high school students “the next generation” or the “future of the church,” we believe you are an essential part of the body of Christ right now. Whether you’re 14 or 64, if you are a believer in Christ, you have been called to serve God and serve other people. We believe God has called all of us into a life characterized by selflessness, love, and humility. MSM’s Student Leadership is a team through which we want to equip and empower students who feel the call to lead other individuals with a Christ-like attitude.

We are not looking for students who view Student Leadership as just an extension of their social life. We are not looking for students who are motivated by recognition, reputation, rank or reward. This isn’t the cute, fun popular club at church. Instead, we welcome students who have a desire to care for and love others in order to glorify God. We are looking for students who are serving in all aspects of their lives and who are willing to be spiritual leaders to those around them. We want students who are motivated by the fact that they are loved by Jesus Christ, the One who set the ultimate example of service for us.

    >>> Mark 10:45 | For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. (NLT)

We want to train, develop and disciple student leaders so that they are equipped to better serve their church, schools, and communities. We want to see HSM students grow and discover their gifts and abilities so that they can use them to glorify God. We want HSM to be a place where students are encouraged to not only cast a vision, but to execute it as well, believing in the truth that they are empowered by the Holy Spirit and supported by the family of Christ around them.

Please carefully read the following material with prayer and careful consideration to see if the Student Leadership team is something God is leading you to join. Again, we are so excited to have you considering becoming part of this team. We love you!

    His Servant,

    Frank DiRenzo
    Director of Student Development

  • What Is The Student Leadership Team?

East Swamp student leaders are any student, between 10th and 12th grades, who demonstrates the spiritual maturity and servant’s heart necessary to lead their peers within the East Swamp Student Ministry community. Student Leaders (SLT) commit for a minimum of one (1) year (typically September thru May) to serve MSM by helping encourage your peers and students to take a next step in owning their faith and joining Gods mission. You do that through serving the needs of your peers and working alongside our ESSM leaders on Wednesdays and leading by example on Sunday nights.
  • Why Should I Do It?

Student Leadership team has 4 primary purposes:
    1. Serve others
    2. Learn Leadership Principles
    3. Gain Leadership Experience
    4. Plan one event together
  • What Student Leadership Is NOT?

    1. SLT is NOT an exclusive club.  SLT exists to include others and connect them with others.
    2. SLT is NOT entitled to any special perks, only sacred responsibilities.
    3. SLT does not exist to receive the praise of others.
