    Eligibility:
     
    Open to all Sub-Junior, Junior, Open, and Master men and women Powerlifters and Bench Press only athletes that have meet their Provincial and the CPU Regional requirements.

    -All entries are non-refundable


    -Bring picture ID along with your printed CPU card, and printed CCES certificate to present to the weigh-in official


    -Coaching – will be limited to 1 coach per unequipped lifter and 2 per equipped lifter.


    -Warm Up Area – only for lifters and coach; all lifters must ensure the use of collars when warming up.


    -Drug Testing – This is a drug-tested contest. Once a lifter has weighed in he/she accepts the IPF drug-testing procedure IN FULL, and from that moment on is in the contest. The lifter may not exit from the contest before its completion. EVEN IF HE/SHE BOMBS OUT! This may be viewed as a refusal to submit a sample for anti-doping control, and if so, will result in immediate disqualification from the contest and suspension from the CPU

    The CPU Westerns Championships does NOT have a lifter's cap. If you qualify, there will be room for you. Please read all the information and answer the field questions properly.

    At the Westerns Championships, the IPF rule of no weight or age class changes within 21 days of the event will be observed.

  • Membership Information

     

    Your CPU membership must be current on the contest date. You will be required to present your vaild membership card and picture ID at the contest. If you do not have a valid membership card on the day of the contest, you will not be permitted to compete. If you do not have a picture ID you will be entered into the Open age class which may effect your qualifying total need to enter this competition. To purchase a membership click here.

    Women's 3-lift Powerlifting Provincials will be held on October 12, 2019.

  • QUALIFYING STANDARDS

  • All athletes must meet CPU qualifying standards.

    Please select the CPU competition in which you achieved your qualifying total within 24 months of 2020 Western Championships. Please enter your qualifying total from that competition in kilograms. We will use this information to verify that you meet the qualifying standards.

     

  • Please enter the weight class in which you competed when you attained your qualifying total. This does not mean you must compete at the same weight class at 2020 Westerns. We just need this info to verify that you've met qualifying standards.

  • Has your name changed since you achieved your qualifying total?*
  • Please provide the name with which you achieved your qualifying total. This will help us cross-reference your qualifying total if you achieved it before your name change.

    Note that this is an extenuating circumstance and we may request you provide government documentation of your name change.

    In consideration for permission granted by British Columbia Powerlifting Association to participate in its CPU Westerns Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships (the “Activities”) I, the undersigned myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, hereby acknowledge and agree to waive any and all claims that I have or may in the future have against the Canadian Powerlifting Union, British Columbia Powerlifting Association, Fortius Health and Sport, the City of Burnaby, the Province of BC and any of its employees, organizers, volunteers and sponsors of this competition, (the “Releasees”) and to release the Releasees from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury including death, that I may suffer, or that my next of kin may suffer as a result of my participation in any Activities sponsored or organized by the Releasees, DUE TO ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF CONTRACT OR BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY OR OTHER DUTY OF CARE, INCLUDING ANY DUTY OF CARE OWED UNDER THE Occupiers' Liability Act, RSBC 1996 c. 37 on the part of the Releasees and also including the failure on the part of the Releasees to safeguard or protect me from the risks, dangers and hazards of participating in the activities. I realize that Powerlifting is a high risk sport and that I could be injured. I certify that I am in good physical health and that I have no serious health problems and that I assume full responsibility for such conditions. I accept that I am fully responsible for my well-being and safety in the warm up room, on the lifting platform and while I am competing at this event. I am also aware that I am responsible for the actions of any coach and entourage that attends this contest in my support. I HAVE READ THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, AND I UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SUBMITTING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
