For children in grades K-4, FIRST® LEGO® League Explore helps students to focus on fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO® bricks and powered by LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. Each yearly Challenge has three parts: Core Values, the LEGO® Model, and the team poster. NSBE’s FIRST® LEGO® League Explore showcase takes place at the Annual Convention. Students must be a participant of an active NSBE Jr. chapter.
Participants get to:
- Explore challenges facing today's scientists
- Discover real-world math and science
- Design and build a challenge-related model using LEGO® elements
- Create a team poster and practice presentation skills
- Develop teamwork skills
- Choose to participate in Festival and showcases
- Engage in team activities guided by the FIRST Core Values

Eligibility and Requirements:
- All participants must be active NSBE Jr. members of an officially recognized NSBE Jr. chapter.
- All Students must be in grades K-4.
- Attending the 47th Annual Convention in Orlando, FL.
- Teams: Minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 6 students.
- Chapter advisor and team coach must participate in the "FIRST Youth Protection Program". This designation is valid for three years from the time you are cleared through FIRST.
