• THE SCIENCE OF YOU

    SELF EXPLORATION by Liz Dobbins
  • It's time to Plug into the diagnostic center and explore the science of you.

The diagnostic center will create clarity on how your internal engine runs for optimal performance for workplace productivity.Through this self-exploration you will have greater clarity of the following:

    • How you move through your day
    • Where to achieve greater results while transforming stress into ease
    • How to energize yourself and change your state to increase focus

The great news is, with self-awareness, you are able to move into greater results to tune in and to expand your work tool box towards higher performance and success rate no matter what the playing field or circumstance. How awesome is that?

Let's get started! On each of the following pages, check how often you use find yourself using each area throughout your day.

    • Often means yes often, without even thinking about it
    • Seldom means every once in a while
    • Never means not at all

Then, with that self-awareness, we'll go even further to use these as tools and strategies to help decreasing stress, increase your focus based on neuroscience and research to maximize your effectivness.

  • Sensory Processing AND Sensory Modulation

  • Sensory Processing in Our World

Sensory processing is the way we use sensory information our brain detects, prioritizes, and remembers from both external and internal sensations.

    • External sensations from the environment around you
    • Internal sensations from within your bodies, and interactive experiences with the people and objects you encounter.

It's important to know that sensory preferences are individual, so what calms some may irritate others.

    The Senses and Emotion

Our senses can be used to help us with all of the following:

    • Relax or calm down
    • Be more alert and energized
    • Be in tune with our body and the world
    • Feel more organized

    Sensory Modulation

The ability to regulate and organize the degree, intensity and nature of responses to sensory input in a graded and adaptive manner. Sensory Modulation strongly influences arousal levels and allows people to maintain an optimal range of performance while adapting to challenges in everyday life.

Benefits of sensory modulation are key for high-performance and productivity in the work place.

    These benefits include the following:

    • Transform self doubt into confidence
    • Increased self-awareness
    • Build resilience
    • Increased ability to focus
    • Production of new neuron growth
    • Learning how to trust yourself through the wisdom of your body and how you interact with world.
  • WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS

    SELF AWARENESS

Learning to Self-Regulate your sensory system is the first step to activating your productivity.

You may not know why you are using your sensory systems. You may even be asking yourself...

    • What are the effective times during the day when you are most effective?
    • What do I do to increase my productivity in all environments?
    • Are there ways I function in a better work environment for even greater results and outcomes?

And while you may not have identified why you're using your senses, if you identify your strategies, you can be aware of what things help you.

Then, you can choose to include more of what sensory activities enhance your ability to decrease stress allowing you to focus on the things you get to do.
