To qualify for The Fiesta scholarship program, students must be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino. Hispanic/Latino is an ethnic category, not a racial category; students may be of any race. For purpose of the Fiesta scholarship fund, students must be from a family whose ancestors came from at least one of these countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama,Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Spain, Uruguay, or Venezuela.
- Be high school seniors who reside in Alabama or currently attending a university/college (as long as the student is currently attending or enrolled in a college/ university institution and is not in the last semester of their senior year).
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and above.
- Must be accepted to or attending a college or university. Preference will be given to those who apply in the state of Alabama. However, Alabama residents attending out of college or universities may apply.
- Agree to collaborate with Fiesta, its sponsors and Board of Directors by permitting the use of your likeness and testimonials, as well as to participate in Fiesta activities and events as requested by the board.
- Fully complete the Fiesta Scholarship Application Form (including a 500 word essay).
- Submit a video no longer than 90 seconds that allows the Board to get to know you and your goals in a unique and personal manner.
