Lone Star Conversations Registration

Lone Star Conversations is an exciting web series made in response to COVID-19 and our inability to meet in person as a full ensemble. This web series is comprised of five interviews with the industry’s leading composers and conductors.

Our panel of Frank Ticheli, John Mackey, Julie Giroux, Omar Thomas, and Ian Weinberger represent a diverse, innovative, and downright famous collection of influential artists that will serve as educational, and insightful voices to our online community.

With this series of panelists, our web series will provide unique opportunities to learn about:

Giroux’s experience being the first female composer featured at a US Presidential Inauguration, and the youngest recipient and first female recipient of an Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Direction, in 1992.
Weinberger’s experience as conductor of the world-famous Broadway production of Hamilton, after planning a career as a high school band director.
Thomas’ experience breaking into the wind band realm by storm, and many others!
