The Western State Project Pipeline Architecture Camp is a two day intensive studio- based program that introduces middle school students (ages 11-14/grades 6-8) to the profession of architecture. The students use their creative skills to develop an architectural design for a real site in their town/ city. Students will learn and practice model making, architectural drawing, sketching, critical thinking and public speaking skills during this fun and challenging program.
We will be distributing/mailing out design kits for each student that will have a majority of the items they will need for the camp. Students may supplement the camp supplied materials with found objects around the house or neighborhood in order to integrate sustainability and reuse into their design process. Adult support will be needed during the camp. This is not to say that a parent or guardian will need to be with campers every moment, but they will need some guidance at times when we are not all online together.
