Information on filling a vacant Board Member Seat in accordance with the Harbor Gateway South Neighborhood Council Bylaws, Article V, Section 506, which states, "Any vacant position can be filled by appointment by the President or Vice-President and approval of a simple majority of the Board at the meeting immediately following the vacancy..." The remaining term of each vacant seat ends with the certification of the 2023 Neighborhood Council Election.
Neighborhood Council membership is open to all Stakeholders. A “Stakeholder” shall be defined as any individual who:
(1) Lives, works, or owns real property within the boundaries (view map) of the neighborhood council; or
(2) Is a Community Interest Stakeholder, defined as an individual who is a member of or participates in a Community Organization within the boundaries of the neighborhood council.
In order to apply for an Area Seat, you must be a stakeholder within that area. (See description below)
Seats to be filled:
1) Area 1: The area north of Sepulveda Boulevard and south of 223rd Street.
2) Area 2: The area north of 223rd Street and south of Carson Street.
3) Area 3: The area north of Caron Street and south of Torrance Blvd.
4) Area 4: The area north of Torrance Boulevard and south of 190th Street.
