  • I understand that as a member of the Big Bug Mining District LLC (BBMD),I can run for office and participate in the voting on all major policies and officer elections. I will also be able to attend all meetings and outings and use the BBMD claims, subject to the bylaws, rules and regulations. I acknowledge that I have read and initialed each section of the attached rules and regulation and will abide by said rules. Failure to follow the rules will result in progressive disciplinary action up to and including termination from the BBMD as determined by the board of directors. I understand that BBMD may send emails to remind members of upcoming meetings and events. I understand that BBMD may use photos of members for use on the bigbugminingdistrict.com website unless notified otherwise.

    I, the undersigned, (hereafter referred to as participant) assume all risks and/or hazards associated with participantãe™s involvement in the BBMD. Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless all Big Bug Mining District officers, sponsors and/or other third, fourth, etc. parties involved in association activities. Participant realizes that metal- detecting, gold prospecting and associated activities can be dangerous. The terrain can be hazardous, and there may be wild and domestic animals and snakes present. Some locations may have open shafts, pits and tunnels. Participants assume all responsibility by signing below.

  • RULES AND REGULATIONS These rules and regulations are as adopted by the Board of Directors on January 19, 2017. Common sense consideration for the rights of the general membership by each individual member must be observed. Each of us needs to conduct ourselves in a way that extends more than ordinary courtesy to other members and guests. Violation of these guidelinesmay result in suspension or revocation of membership.

    GENERAL CONDUCT Public drunkenness, profanity, excessive noise, reckless use of firearms and other such

    behavior are prohibited. No member will threaten another member in any way. Members and guests will abide by federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Initials:

  • CAMPING LIMITS There is a 14-day stay limit on claims, within any 30-day period. (Federal Law) Initials:

    TRASH AND SANITATION &€œPACK IT IN â€" PACK IT This includes all

    cigarette butts and pull-tabs. Use your shovel as your toilet tool-away from the general camping areas and trails. Bury it no less than 6 inches. Initials:

    GUESTS Prospecting guests will be limited to a total of two days, after that, they must join the BBMD. Guests must execute a hold harmless agreement prior to commencing any activity on a claim. Initials:

    EQUIPMENT Use of explosives, chemicals, tractors, dozers, and backhoes are prohibited. Use of heavy equipment is prohibited on the claims unless approved by the board.

    DIG HOLES/SURFACE DISTURBANCES Members are responsible for refilling ALL dig holes on claims and reclamation of areas worked.

    PLANS OF OPERATION Currently BBMD has no "Plan of Operation" for any Forest Service or BLM land except for claims BBMD 6, BBMD 7, and BBMD 8. Initials:

    NATIONAL FOREST REGULATIONS The use of a metal detector to locate mineral

    deposits such as gold and silver on National Forest System lands is considered prospecting and is subject to the provisions of the General Mining Law of 1872. Detectors that are used in searching for treasure trove, locating historical and pre-historical artifacts require a Special Use Permit. Searching for coins or recent vintage (less that 50 years) and small objects having no historical value, as a recreational pursuit does not require a Special Use Permit as long the use of the equipment is confined to areas which do not possess historic or prehistoric resources. Pick/shovel excavations may only be done in conjunction with gold panning and metal detecting and must be made below the high water mark on the stream channel. All excavations must be filled in before leaving the area. Do not cut trees, limbs or brush. Do not dig up ground cover. Initials:

  • BLM LAND Suction Dredging requires permission from the Army Corps of Engineers. In Phoenix, please call (602) 640-5385. In Tucson, call (520)670- 5021. Prior to conducting suction dredging on BLM administered lands in Arizona; you will need to file either a notice or plan of operations pursuant to 43 CFR 3809. Initials:

    A BBMD member or his guest is prohibited from prospecting BBMD mining claims for

    the purpose of making a valid lode discovery in order to file a lode mining claim over BBMD placer mining claims.
