Welcome to miniEnterprize's second Virtual Stock Simulation Competition!
Whether you're a trading beginner or veteran, our simulator is the perfect platform to get started without actual risks! This year, in addition to a traditional stock simulator, we are introducing a portfolio case aspect to complement the trading experience.
Starting on October 5, we will release the case for your perusal, which will contain further instruction on how this year's simulator will function as well as the criteria for winning. Individual competitors will get to trade simulation stocks over three months with a starting portfolio value of $100,000 through Investopedia. As a free virtual stock market simulation that allows students to practice investing before using real money, this is the perfect opportunity to learn trading strategies and the ins and outs of NASDAQ, Dow Jones, S&P 500, and more.
Over three months, you'll get to trade anywhere, anytime. Our "contest" displays real-time rankings of all competitors so that you can view and gauge your standing among other top traders. However, this does not mean that the top trader will necessarily win, as each investment needs to satisfy the wishes of our case's client. We will require participants to write a small report at the end of the competition to explain the rationale behind their decisions. That being said, our prize for this year will be $500.
With our primary focus on financial literacy entrepreneurship, miniEnterprize aims to encourage youth to take initiative and think outside the box. Our one-day conference at the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business is structured to introduce attendees, like yourself, to the business world. Our ultimate goal is to provide attendees opportunities to meet and interact with like-minded individuals, like through hands-on workshops led by industry leaders just before competing in a case competition judged by seasoned professionals, all based on problems they could encounter in the real world.
