  • Refer to the our Curriculum Guide for a comprehensive overview of our academic structure and each course. Note:

    • Each student must enroll in a minimum of six Traveling School classes. 
    • The Traveling School is acccredited by the Accrediting Commision for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS-WASC).
    • Our transcripts and credits are accepted by private and public schools across the country and globe.
    • The Traveling School is not a four-year diploma granting institution. We cannot grant credit for work completed during a semester; only a student's home school can award them credit. 
    • Each school approves Traveling School credit differently, and therefore it is important for the school counselor/registrar and student to understand how their school will approve credits.
    • We recommend the student receive one semester credit for all courses from their home high school.

    Questions for counselor and student to consider: 

    • What required courses, not offered through The Traveling School, does the student need to take? Can that course be taken before/after a Traveling School semester or through summer/online school options? 
    • Are there any additional requirements for a Traveling School course to earn credit? (Ex. Take a final exam or write a paper upon return to receive credit)

  • REQUIRED COURSES

    Please indicate how your school will accept the credits from the following REQUIRED Traveling School courses.

  • Note: Spanish is a REQUIRED course on our South America semester, so if you are applying to our South America program, you must select this course. Spanish is NOT offered in our other semester regions. Students taking Spanish will complete a pre-assessment prior to their semester to confirm their language level.

  • SUPPLEMENTARY COURSES

    Students may select additional courses to take with The Traveling School.
    • Please note that these supplementary courses will only be offered with a minimum of three students enrolled.
    • Due to interest and capacity, The Traveling School may choose to only offer one supplementary course per semester.
    • Should a selected course no longer be offered, you will be notified at the time of enrollment in the program
    • If your school requires you - or you otherwise have a need - to take a course not offered by The Traveling School, we may be able to set up an independent study.
    • All independent study requests must be approved by The Traveling School.

  • The Traveling School sends electronic transcripts to school counselors. Should your school need a different format or a physical copy, please notify us. 

  • Acknowledgements

    For home-schooled students: please write N/A for the counselor acknowledgement and ensure both students and parent/guardian acknowledgements are complete.
