  • Our next Executive Board will serve from July 2023-June 2025 and we need volunteer members to fill roles in the governance and management of our League. See job descriptions below for more information about roles and committees.

    Please fill in your name and check all positions in which you would be willing to serve and/or help.

  • OFFICERS

    PRESIDENT:  Presides at meetings, appoints committee chairs, has general supervision of League affairs, and is an ex-officio member of all committees.  Can also call special meetings, appoint special committees, arrange for financial audits, and sign checks.

    VICE PRESIDENT:  Performs presidential duties in the absence of the President; advises President on parliamentary procedure and may lead special projects.

    TREASURER: Prepares/monitors annual budget, manages Leagues money, collects dues & fees, pays bills.  Keeps Leagues financial records, submits financial reports.  Maintains information for government/banking documents & completes IRS reporting.

    SECRETARY:  Records minutes of board & membership meetings, obtains approval and distributes minutes as appropriate.

  • COMMITTEE CHAIRS

    ARCHIVIST:  Maintains the digital & physical archives of League current & historical records.  Computer skills are necessary.

    COMMUNITY OUTREACH:  Identifies art-related community outreach opportunities and oversees service projects and charitable donations for the League.

    EXHIBIT: Identifies & investigates exhibit venues, schedules exhibits and is primary venue contact/liason.  Provides schedules & exhibit details to members, manages exhibit registraiton & tracking.  Finds judge for annual members judged exhibit.  Computer, organizational and communication skills needed.

    GALLERY:  Manages hanging of exhibits to include delivery/pickup reminders, hanging art, ensuring compliance with League gallery and venue rules, and working with venues to manage gallery processes.  Modification & oversight of League''s Gallery Rules.  Computer, organizational and communication skills needed; hanging/gallery experience helpful.

    HOSPITALITY: Manages provision of refreshments & related needs for League meetings and exhibits receptions by overseeing member signups, purchasing supplies and organizing refreshment tables.  Includes special needs for receptions such as flowers, ABC licenses and setup/cleanup for meetings & receptions.

    MEMBERSHIP: Coordinates/oversees new member jury process by receiving/distributing applications & images, and provides new membes with relevant League information. Manages membership status & information changes, and maintains membership directories.  Works with Treasurer on annual dues payment process. Send JRAL notes to members as needed. Computer & communications skills needed.

    NEWSLETTER: Creates & publishes JRAL newsletters on a regular basis, with news on programs, exhibits, member news, and art-related topics of interest. Computer and communication skills needed.

    PROGRAMS: Plans & manages programs for membership meetings by finding speakers, overseeing meeting audio-visual needs, providing for speakers's talk/demo needs.  Organizes & oversees field trips and special programs.  Computer skills needed.

    PUBLICITY: Coordinates publicity with exhibit venues; gets art images needed, creates flyers, arranges for online or publicized ads. Manage/liason with advertising venues and/or news outlets.  Computer skills needed for flyer design, image management and online media publication.

    SOCIAL MEDIA: Oversees/manages social media and other technology tools and their content used by the League, including website, social media platforms and email communication applications.  Computer skills are necessary.

    JRAL GALLERY AT CROSSROADS: Manages & coordinates signups and installations for rotating member exhibits at JRAL's gallery space at Crossroads Art Center.
