We are thrilled to welcome you to KR Academy CAMPS!

Our winter camps are fun and exciting, with visits to other mountains as we partner with other Clubs and Resorts, and invite high level guest coaches for a unique experience.  

All participants MUST register for a Freestyle BC and Freestyle Canada Membership to be insured.  Please go to FREESTYLE BC - MEMBERSHIPS and choose your Club affiliation to KR Academy before filling out this form, as it will ask for your registration number.  Athletes need the basic "Club Membership" to Participate in sanctioned programs, and can upgrade to the "Provincial Membership" should they choose to compete within Canada at the Timber Tour or Jr National events.  

Seasons Passes to Apex are recommended, and for the Early Bird Pricing, please purchase before October 15th.  https://apexresort.com/. Reciprocal day passes can be used for the other mountains.

TRAMPOLINE FALL PROGRAM
Led by Jessie Broster and Patrick Farcau, this 6 week program will get your aerial skills tuned up for the winter.  Hosted at West Kelowna Gymnastix.   Increase your air awareness, fundamentals, skill building and discovery, technique, repititons, injury prevention and safety.

FREESTYLE SKI CAMPS 
Optional (included in Jr Performance)
1.  Pre-Season - November 25, 26
     Location: TBD - Apex or SilverStar
     Ages: 11+
     Focus:  Air focus - new jumps, air qualifiying, goal setting
2.  Winter Camp - December 29, 30
     Location:  Apex
     Ages 6+ / 9+
     Focus:  Dial in the basics, meet new friends and get a chance to work with          different coaches
3.  Family Day Camp - February 17, 18
     Ages 6+ / 9+
     Location:  TBD (Recipricol pass Resort, and/or Apex)
     Focus:  Explore, connect, find different terrain.
4.  Spring Camp 1 - March 19, 20 
     Location:  SilverStar
     Ages 6+ / 9+
     Focus:  Airbag + Slopestyle
5.  Spring Weekend Camp - March 23, 24
     Location:  Apex
     Ages 6+ / 9+ 
     Focus:  Tune up for BC Champs!
Cost: $149 each camp (or included in Jr Performance)

*extra expenses may be incurred for coach travel, tickets and accommodations, which will be split amongst participants and billed back.  

 

COMPETITIONS
Please select events below if you choose to go.  These are optional.  Extra coaching days (falling outside of regular scheduled days) plus coach expenses for accommodations and travel will be billed back and shared amongst participating families. 

Lift tickets and facility fees are not included in any pricing.

Injury Waiver

I recognize that skiing entails serious risks. Consequently, I relinquish all rights to an appeal of any kind, including the right to an appeal for bodily and material damages, regardless of the cause, against the KR Academy, Freestyle BC, Canadian Snowsports Association, Canadian Freestyle Ski Association, Apex Mountain Resort and it's coaches, employees, board members, sponsors, athlete members and volunteers, even if such damages result from negligence.

Without restricting the generality of the preceding, I also relinquish the right to any appeal against the KR Academy, Freestyle BC, Canadian Snowsports Association, Canadian Freestyle Ski Association, Apex Mountain Resort and it's coaches, employees, board members, sponsors, athlete members and volunteers resulting from a decision on their part, regardless of the nature of this decision.

RISK OF INVERTS:

This waiver is to authorize Aerials/Inverts by parent or Guardian if registrant is less than 18 years of age. This authorization is only valid and supported if the athlete is supervised and is already registered and qualified by the respective NSO, PSO and Club to perform the specific trick. This qualification process and the athlete certification to perform such inverts on certain venues must be signed off and registered by a qualified Air 3 or 4 certified Freestyle Canada Coach for each Air Pathway level, dictating whether the athlete is qualified on water ramp, airbag, on-snow or for competition. An athlete in the Freestyle Canada Air Pathway cannot perform unqualified inverts outside of Freestyle Canada or Apex Freestyle Club Sanctioned venues.

Photo Consent

I authorize the KR Academy and/or its staff, associates, assistants, or subcontractors to use photograph(s), video and other media image provided for any promotional,
educational or other pertinent uses.
I also agree to KR Academy using any images of the named minor(s) gathered by photographers, and or videographers supplying images to KR Academy

I authorize KR Academy to permit the use and display of photographs and/or recordings of the named minors in any publication, multimedia production, including video and web usage, display, or advertisement.
I agree that KR Academy may use name, likeness, or information supplied by the undersigned. The undersigned releases and forever discharges KR Academy, its agents, officers and employees from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of said photographs / recordings, including but not limited to, any claims for invasion of privacy or defamation.
I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS RELEASE AGREEMENT AND I AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS
TERMS. I AM AWARE THAT BY SIGNING THIS RELEASE AGREEMENT I AM WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL

Athlete Statement

I believe that the true essence of sport is to strive for personal achievement and excellence through full and honest effort.

I am committed to participating in sport with integrity, and to striving to win only by legitimate means.

I pledge to learn, understand, and adhere to both the written rules of my sport and the accepted rules of fair play.

I believe that violence and physical intimidation are harmful to sport, and I refuse to use such tactics in an attempt to gain an unfair advantage.

I understand that officials, teammates, and opponents are all integral to sport and worthy of my respect. It is my responsibility to maintain self-control. I will accept officials' decisions without arguments, compete aggressively but without hostility, and behave graciously in triumph or defeat.

Respect for Others

I agree to act with respect toward all those I come into contact with through sport. This means I refrain from comments or behaviours that are abusive, offensive, racist, sexist or otherwise belittling or demeaning to others.

I do not harass or tolerate harassment by others.
I respect others as persons and treat them with dignity.
I respect the privacy of others.
I do not endanger the safety of others through my actions.

Respect for Self
I act with fairness and integrity in the pursuit of excellent sport. I practice drug-free sport and accept doping control.
I avoid the abuse of alcohol and illegal drugs.
Respect for Sport
I strive for personal excellence in sport.
I honour and respect the spirit and traditions of sport.
I do not impede the preparation for competition of other competitors or teammates. I respect the decisions of judges and officials. I promote drug-free sport.

Respect for KR Academy

I accept the rules, policies and procedures of KR Academy, Freestyle BC and Freestyle Canada governing events and competitions in which I participate.

I comply with the reasonable requests of officials of KR Academy, the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association (“CFSA”) and, or International Ski Federation (“FIS”).

I accept that I am an ambassador for freestyle skiing and KR Academy

I refrain from any action which might bring the sport of freestyle skiing or KR Academy’s reputation into disrepute.

Respect for Property

I respect the property and livelihood of others, which means refraining from vandalism, theft, and other forms of mischief.

Compliance

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Discipline Policy of KR Academy. Such action may result in the member losing the privileges that come from membership in KR Academy, including the opportunity to participate in KR Academy, Freestyle BC, FIS, Freestyle Canada or NorAm events.
