Barn Rules
Students AND Parents - Please read, understand and abide by the following rules as we strive to give everyone a safe and fun learning experience here at Never Say Never Stables. Rules and regulations are in place for the safety of all riders and horses. Barn rules are also posted on/in the tack room for easy reference.
1. NO SMOKING, vaping, illegal substance or alcohol permitted on premises, or within 100 feet of the property.
2. There is zero tolerance for disrespect, bullying and/or threatening any human or animal on the property. Disrespect and/or damage to any part of the property and/or others’ property will not be tolerated. Compensation for stolen or damaged property will be expected in full.
3. For safety reasons, spectators must remain at the viewing area (picnic gazebo/play area) while lessons or equine activities commence, and all children must remain under direct supervision by parent or guardian at ALL TIMES.
4. Lesson student(s) may be dropped off for activities with trainer’s consent and at their discretion.
5. Listen to your trainer and follow their instructions at all times. Riders not following instructions or acting in an unsafe or disrespectful manner will be asked to dismount or cease activity immediately. This rule is for your safety, the safety of other participants, and the horse’s well-being. NO refund will be given in part or whole for lessons ceased for this reason.
6. All students participating in barn and/or riding activities at NSN MUST wear an ASTM approved riding helmet at all times. We provide helmets for your use.
7. Do not detach and/or cross chains, gates, fence tape or other boundaries unless escorted by staff.
8. Do not enter arena or horse stalls/pens unless specifically instructed by your trainer.
9. Please do not bring any personal pets to the stable.
10. Closed toed footwear is mandatory for all barn activities and riding. No flip flops, crocks or sandals while in the barn. Long pants are recommended for riders comfort.
11. No running, screaming, loud noises, or horseplay (no pun!) while in direct contact with the horses or animals or in their areas.
12. Do not chase or attempt to catch or hold any animal, including our free range chickens.
13. Ask before petting ANY of the horses or animals.
14. DO NOT feed ANYTHING to the horses or other animals. This includes any hay, leaves, grass, plants or debris found on the ground. We appreciate your help in keeping our horses safe and healthy!
15. Do not enter goat pen or other any animal pens without permission.
16. Do not poke, push or place any items into any of the pens or fenced areas. This includes sticks, leaves, rocks, grass, food, fingers, etc.
17. Please refrain from opening umbrellas while lessons are in progress as they can cause the horses to spook.
18. Report any concerns, issues, damage and/or injuries (human or animal) to a staff member immediately upon occurrence/observation.
19. Disclose any/all illness, symptoms, conditions or health concerns to your instructor. 24 hours must pass before entering the property after a fever.
20. We abide by the current CDC rules regarding Covid-19 and/or any other contagious illnesses.
